I think sometimes we as Christorians over-estimate Chris' cognitive abilities and insight and have to take a step back and remember who we're dealing with. This isn't someone that really thinks things through, his thinking process is much more simple - like that of a five year old child. So if Chris does (A: usually an minimal, meaningless task), he thinks that (B: positive outcome) will happen without accounting for (C: consequences, lack of effort). This logic can be applied to anything he does:
  • If Chris draws Sonichu, he will become world famous and make millions without accounting for copyright infringement/horrible story and art.
If Chris sits around with an attraction sign, he will get a boyfriend free girl without having to approach anyone/looking like a slow-in-da-mind.
If Chris eats McDonalds salads and grilled chicken, he will get buff bod without having to eat real food/exercise.
Therefore if Chris dresses like a "tomgirl", he will be attractive to females even though in actuality he looks like a smelly serial killer. There's no gender confusion, he's perfectly content with his broken duck and manboobies. He just wants to fit in with the gals and then put his moves on them. Furthermore, he probably does genuinely enjoy the feeling of a musclebra, panties and wind blowing up his skirt. He's fucking weird. And that's an understatement. :tomgirl:

I've been confused about this whole tomgirl thing. I'm pretty sure he started doing it just to try and impress women. Then again, he is, in his own words, a "gaybian" so I think that he might even be trying to be a male lesbian. There is the simple notion that he could just be into crossdressing, but I'm pretty sure the majority of male crossdressers refer to themselves as male (unless they are in character or something).

Chris is just boundlessly confused about what his feelings tell him ("omg, wearing bras is awesome") and what the society has been telling him ("not okay to be gay"). Combine that with autism and his curious sexual development and you've got a bit of a mess that is not exactly something you can even begin to describe in rational terms.

It's possible Chris has very minor gender issues going on, but I don't think they'd be significant in larger scale. He probably found the tomgirlism thing genuinely fun, and, as usual, was conflicted to hell and back when he tried to explain it to everyone else. And like all fun things, it's going to slowly slide back to obscurity when he puts his mind to other fun things.

There was a time when he actually wanted to be employed... working on an assembly line making pokeballs.
This picture disillusioned and depressed me, I used to think that pokeballs were hand-crafted by expert artisans, putting their hearts into each one. That they are mass produced in factories is a sad developement.

the sad thing is most pokeball factories have been outsourced. he'll never work in a pokeball factory now.

He seems to think that "if a woman can be overtly masculine, a man (like myself) can therefore be overtly feminine" but unfortunately this really isn't the case.

Oh, it absolutely is the case. It's just that if you show it, you get your ass kicked, metaphorically and physically.

Believe me, I've seen my fair share of overly feminine men. They're what most people just call "flamers".

Champ wasn't really saying "can" in the sense of whether or not they physically are capable of crossdressing. I think he was more referring to the ability to act feminine and still be able to not be seen as a weirdo socially.

In Chris' case, that ship sailed years ago. The tomgirling thing was just taking it to a whole new level.

Does it also strike anybody else as strange that despite Chris being a creature seemingly defined and driven by very base needs and desires, also happens to be a surprisingly complex puzzle and difficult to decipher?

I mean, there's pages and pages of discussion about him. Christ something must keep us coming back, cos it's certainly not his charming personality.

Chris's mind may be more simplistic, but his mind also works differently. Many things that are common sense to everyone else, he doesn't know. He also has many bizarre beliefs, which I guess is because most of his beliefs are based entirely on what he wants to believe, instead of reality.

There's probably a simple, but bizarre reason for his tomgirlism.

I still suspect that this simple but bizarre reason is that he wants to be his own girlfriend. He didn't manage to attract any boyfriend-free girls who weren't trolls or prostitutes, so he tries to feel sexed up through himself.

Yeah but he also likes playing with girly toys now. Plus he hates brute males and enjoys using women's restrooms.

Chris doesn't have the imagination to be satisfied by imagining a girlfriend.

It's an ironic counterintuivity, isn't it? The thing with Chris is that even though he is defined and driven by very base needs and desires, the ways he thinks of achieving them, and to some extent, the character of their manifestation in his mind, are very abnormal.

imo it's just about toys.

He always liked playing with girls' toys, but there was one girls' toy he was always prevented (actively or passively) from playing with: clothes and makeup.

So one day he decides to give the fucky finger to his parents/society and start wearing clothing and makeup for girls.

I doubt there's any complex psychological reason for it. Chris is a pretty simple person really.

Yeah but now he plays with My Little Pony and the girl version of Legos.

Maybe Barb used to dress Chris like a girl when he was real young. It's not as crazy as it sounds; Ed Wood crossdressed because his mom wanted a girl, and she dressed him in girl's clothing.

I could see Barb doing that during his mute years, just treating Chris like a little dolly and putting cute clothes on him when Bob wasn't around.

Fast-forward 30 years:
Barb: I didn't raise a daughter

Barb didn't raise a son, either.
