2. "I Sincerely Wish people would positively Like me." Just as Chris thinks of relationships in purely shallow terms, it seems like he's trying to do the same with friendship. If he scares people into never doing anything that gives him prickly-wicklies, that's the same as everyone liking him. Somehow he thinks being the playground bully is a valid life strategy. Aged 32.
I kinda think you got that wrong.
Everyone is prejudiced towards Chris, his autism, his family/mother, his tomgirlism etc. Thus they discriminate him and dislike him for reasons he can't fathom or change. Mind you, he sees nothing wrong with how he treats 'friends' or how he behaves in public.
So he wants to be liked but since people are massive assholes for no apparent reason, he's unable to change it.
So he settles for the next best thing, which is 'respect'. And obviously anyone telling Chris 'No' or 'You are not allowed to [x]' is not giving him respect.
Chris might think they don't respect him for being weak and powerless, so the pepper spray is his gamechanger of choice. Someone is
telling him something he doesn't like not giving him the respect he deserves? Threaten them into submission.
Chris always had power fantasies and the pepper spray finally made him able to live them out. He's the perfect example of a meek, weak loser that suddenly has some sort of power at his disposal. He's drunken with his own power.
3. What does he think Sega's reaction is going to be? Assuming they don't throw his letter away, the best he can hope for is, "Huh. Turns out Blue-Armed Sonic is unpopular with a violent prick, but that's okay, he's been arrested."
He's not contacting them himself, he's asking his 'support troops' to do it for him. If I was willing to believe Chris subconciously plans ahead, I'd assume he's doing this to later have the option of blaming Segas inevitable silence on his support troops not doing it right.
But it's Chris, so it's more likely he's just lazy.
Goddamn, this seems to be the most important issue Chris ever had in his life and he can't even be arsed to write his own letters.
What's provoked this desperate need for violence? Has he stopped masturbating altogether or something?
The aforementioned lack of respect might be getting up to him. He figured that if people at least respected him, noone would give him shit. So he threatens them, cause that will make them respect his 'strength', right?
Problem is while a pepper-spray is self-defense weapon it doesnt stop everyone dead in their tracks. If Chris tangles with the wrong person, someone who is resistant pepper spray, he is most likely gonna end up in the hospital. Not to mention if the attacker carries a weapon too.
I can totally see Chris trying to stirr up some shit, defend himself with the pepper spray just to find out it is too empty to down the other guy but full enough to get him really pissed.
Frankly, I couldn't give less of a shit if Chris gets his shit slapped after such an escapade. I don't
want this to happen, of course, but if Chris manages to piss off someone that roughs him up a bit I'm not gonna pity the fool that repeatedly jabbed the sleeping lion.
I think we all are at this point. Chris appears to be spiralling out of control. The pepper spray has given him a newfound sense of empowerment so now he's on a mace-fuelled power trip through Charlottesville. This would be hilariously funny if it were the plot to an episode of The Simpsons, American Dad or Family Guy; it's not so funny when it's real life and some poor sucker at GS, Target or Wal-Mart gets maced because Chris is trying to compensate for decades of feeling weak and vulnerable.
As badly as things have turned out, I think they could get much, much worse if Chris does not learn to rein in these impulses - and we all know there's zero chance of him exercising any kind of self-control.
This.
Let's just hope he doesn't come to the conclusion that the pepper spray is no longer effective enough to get respected and he tries to get something more powerful.
