Because you *can* do that, and you'd be factually correct if you did, but you are absolutely going to be dying on that hill if you do that; that'll be your final exit from that social circle and, depending on how screechy the troon or the other members of that circle are, could very easily serve as your final exit from all your other social circles, from any relationship you may be in, from any communities you're involved in, and even your job. If you're cool with all of that, get down with your bad self. Just know what you'd get getting into. It sucks, but that's the current cultural zeitgeist and means that it's rarely ever a battle worth picking.

I think a lot of people misunderstood my post - perhaps that was my fault for not being more exact.

I in no way think going to a trans friend and saying, “Men are men, women are women, cope!” is the best approach. Dealing with the issue will take LOTS of time and LOTS of effort in how you break this to them. It’s needs to come with kindness and a way where they don’t feel you’re trying to attack them. Say they start talking about wanting to get the SRS surgery. You could AT LEAST not enable this decision and offer them a broader look into what this will mean going forward and explain the negatives they may not be aware of.

I get most people are afraid and don’t want to put in the effort - but the whole argument the transgender movement uses is that if you DON’T give into their delusions it means you don’t love them. I’m saying the opposite. A true friend WOULD put that time and energy into that friend. You don’t help your schizophrenic friend by agreeing their are glow in the dark CIA niggers after him. That’s not love but for some reason society is slowly being convinced inch by inch that it is.

Chris is one of the most gullible people I've ever seen. If you frame anything to him in a light that makes him believe he can take pride in it, he'll accept it as the absolute truth. If you feel shitty about yourself or the situation you're in, a change of perspective on what's the cause of it can make a massive fucking difference. You can see this sort of behavior everywhere. People will tell you how finding religion has changed their lives, how taking -insert bogus supplement here- has fixed all their problems or some story about how they found some new truth that in theory should be easily contradicted like the belief that the earth is flat. Nobody is perfect, we all fall for shit once in a while.

You don't even have to do much convincing work. As long as he perceives you on his side, he won't question you. Like a child doing a math test. Every answer up until the last can be answered with 10. No matter how obviously the last answer is not 10, his response will always be 10. "The teacher made the test so easy for me! In fact, I'm pretty smart to not waste my time on the latter half of the questions!" Obviously this isn't about math, I hope whoever reads this understands my analogy. And again, this is not exclusive to Chris alone, everyone does this to a degree. Chris just isn't capable to understand this kind of mindgames or traps. Not to a degree where he could pull them off, anyways. That's why he won't account the capability of such mindgames to anyone. And why would he? In his mind he's smarter and/or wiser than most.

I full on understand that if someone empathetic enough to make out the subtle differences between male and female finds that they fit in more on the other side then starts identifying as female. As long as it's not some stupid superficial reason like feeling excluded from something based their sex and thus adapting superficial traits in hopes of being part of the club.
But this is Chris. He can't read the room even if his life depended on it. How the fuck would he of all people know how it feels to be a woman on a fundamental psychological level?

Sorry, quick rant. It's fucking impossible to discuss these things with people who should theoretically know more about trans issues. I'm ready to admit having a stuck up view on what makes a trans person trans and am missing the entire point. As for his sexual orientation... and this is PURELY speculative. I don't see him as someone who is too much into gay porn. He for sure isn't completely straight, but finding sexual gratification through sexting with Sockness was absolutely something he had to be talked into. I feel like even in his mind, he couldn't do it with a guy unless he saw himself as a woman. But then again...
