i've always been impressed by Holding Out For a Hero

incorporating live action with the comic is pretty clever

The homemade Nintendo Power magazine. As awful as the artwork in the homemade magazine is, it set a precedent that Chris would later follow when he began publishing Sonichu or his newsletters that he distributed (illicitly) at PVCC, which is to say that it is perhaps Chris's first self-published work resembling a comic book, magazine, or other publications of the sort.

I'd say the steel-plated heart one is the most impressive recent piece by CWC. It has some serious art value to it, and it's more creative than just mashing vidya characters together. Plus the heart looks more like a real one, instead of just going for the "<3" shape.

Pic pl0x?

I have to go with the album cover...that would look slightly METAL on a t-shirt...

You know, this is kinda like asking what his "least disturbing moment" was. But if I had to chose:

- Yeah it looks like garbage, but A- for effort anyways.

Unironically? The F grade in English from school.
You can see some decent shading, the lines are cleaner and less scribbly than on later works. He definitely colored better back then and the pastels he seems to have used gave much better results than the Crayola markers. Besides, the composition is clean and minimalistic enough to stop it from becoming one more of the clusterfucks Chris usually draws, yet he still gave it a fully colored background. The colors aren't that clashing too. Oh, and also, while it's not a realistic style of portrait, it certainly communicates the emotions he was trying to represent. The 'My Mind Is A Blank' drawing also has a lot of this, but it's quality is argueably lower. Of course, all of these positive features become evident only when comparing this piece with the rest of Chris' artwork, otherwise, i'ts just mediocre.

Actually, it's pretty sad that his art became worst after years and years of 'practice'.

Ironically, or for it's amusement/shock factor? Shecameforcwc. Not only it's hideous to look at, the proportions are terrible and is all kinds of wrong and fucked up, but everything surrounding it is incredibly awful. From the supposed reasons to draw it, to Chris admiting it was supposed to be Megan and, of course, the inevitable consequences in his life we all know about.

I think this is a big point. I really wonder if Chris's art would improve if he learned to use paint or colored pencils or something. His art probably wouldn't get drastically better, but the washable markers really hold him back.

Honestly? It has a kind of surreal look to it. It's not perfect, but hey, art is art in the eye of the beholder...or something. Forgot what my art teacher in high school told me when I made some hideous watercolor painting.

Yeah, I was going to say, it's kinda surreal in how it looks. I mean, it's better in that regard than Sonichu could ever be.

Not gonna lie, his pastel art is actually pretty good. Probably done under supervision from an art teacher too if it predates Sonichu and stuff. Makes me wonder What Could Have Been™.

Kinda reminds you of Dobson, don't it?

I guess as long as his 'skill' was challenged in art class by a teacher who might try to push him to go beyond "well, this sure looks good enough" and help him with some new techniques, he might actually do some acceptable works.
The moment he was allowed to decide that stuff on his own is when his art devolved into what we see today. A constant downward spiral of mediocrity.

This....
Dirtycrappedbriefgoboom.jpg

Because it makes me laugh everytime. The Cwcki article on dirty crapped briefs has given it a whole new hilarious meaning. And I honestly think its one of the better drawn (if innacurate) self portraits of Chris.

What I like the most about this one has to be the way Chris drew everyone with wide open mouths, but it ended up looking like they all had enormous fish lips.
