Slight side tangent, but are we sure it's a .25 caliber revolver and not a .22? 25 acp is a odd caliber to say the least; it fits the story in that it's prone to ricochet, but the only revolver I can think of that uses it is the Velo Dog Revolver made by the Belgians.

He said it was a .25 and he used a picture of a .25 in the blog post, plus the original "Saturday Night Special" that gave the term its name was a .25, so I think it probably actually was one. It would be a weird, specific detail for a soylord like Cole to use just at random.
Well that's very informative, and I'm glad to know that we at least have a accurate record of such a thing. I agree that Cole doesn't strike me as a gun guy, unless he's hiding his hobby really well, with the details he's provided, it seems sufficient to trust him. And yes, blurting out .25 caliber or 25ACP, even when in a gun store looking for one, will give you odd looks as not many new production models roll off the lines any more- most of that demand was killed with a import ban of so called "Saturday night specials" with a law during the late 60's with a caliber up to 380 acp. Ok gun sperging over lol.

Ok my gun 'tism had activated, so bear with me and feel free to correct me when needed. It seems like the Rohm RG-66 was in both 22LR and 22 Magnum, and was a cheap gun. Kind of fits how barb would have been living with her husband at the time. As for 25 acp, I only found the one above, and it seemed to be a animal killer like for a vet more than anything if judging by the name. 25 acp I will say is known to ricochet, due to the speed, low energy, etc and is relatively weak. 22 has a better track record honestly than 25. But again, 22 would make sense, it ricochet like crazy. I've provided a image of the RG-66 you mentioned.

I think it might have been the third if anything. Those guns were quite common back then, and the fact that Cole, out of anyone, brought up 25 caliber/ 25 acp, is a very specific detail when saying 22 would be what I would have expected, since basically everyone knows what a 22 is that's even vaguely familiar with firearms, including your step-dad owning one. And the fact he called it a Saturday night special. The term is kind of around today, more in reference, but it was alive and well for a specific group of firearms back then.
Seems reasonable to conclude that he remembered the term they used, looked up "Saturday Night Special" on Google since he was writing an article and wanted to sound knowledgeable, found some source that made it sound like all SNS guns were .25acp, and didnt dig any deeper because he thought knowing the caliber was enough to sound like he knew what he was talking about.
Either of our conclusions could be right. I did find a few more .25 ACP revolvers, but they're absolutely ancient, im taliking 1913, and wouldnt be considered a saturday night special. A .22 would be more likely, either 22LR or 22 magnum if we assume its the RG-66, since it could swap cylinders. I'll admit my conclusion is more of a stretch, since while Cole may know nothing about guns, not knowing what a revolver is, is actual signs of brain damage. I own a revolver, and I can tell you, it's far different than a Glock or 1911 in every aspect. So with this conversation in mind, is it fair to at least call Cole's story into doubt unless provided with evidence to the contrary?
I would guess one out of two things:
There is a similar gun to the picture he used in the Wikipedia article, but they're not the same. It hardly matters, whether or not Cole is an unreliable narrator, because I just don't buy the story in general.
If Chris was able to actually persist with weightlifiting to the point he had definition in his arm muscles it’d be a miracle.
Chris is only 40, with his health track he might live another thirty years, maybe even forty.
I honestly can't think of a crueler fate for Chris than a treatment that causes him to become self aware.
