A lot of good theories floated out there, and the same thing happened near the end of the Len Shaner threadlock, people angrily wanting to know WHY he hadn't been thrown in jail yet.

When it was pointed out to them that he's still in the process of maybe going to jail, (we'd only reached his preliminary hearing) and it's not a sure thing he will go to jail, they STILL were angry, that he was somehow escaping justice because it wasn't happening to him quicker than it should under the legal system that everyone plays by... that's why it's called a SYSTEM.

I recall no fewer than three times that I answered a "Why hasn't his bail been revoked?!" poster by asking exactly WHAT he did that would legally justify it? They could never answer that. They seemed to think being an idiot meant you weren't entitled to societal protections.

There's a small but very vocal contingent who want cows to not just do amusing things and not just rage impotently, but get PUNISHED in ways far exceeding what's called for by an rational observer.

And that's probably why, they're too close to see that these aren't characters in a tv show, or a webcomic, these are real people, the police can't just beat them up... for the same reason they can't summarily beat YOU up. They can't throw you in jail for being annoying... they can't throw Chris in jail for being annoying... and those quick to say "But he's endangering life and limb" are, again, too close to the show to see how petty the "crimes" of both are.

I do think it's some shade of wanting someone inferior to them punished so they can feel better, same reason why people obsessively watch tv shows like Jerry Springer and Judge Judy, to bitter, unhappy people, watching others they feel superior to suffer misfortune is the only thing that brings them happiness..... I've known quite a few folks, some in my immediate family, that are that way, it's sad when you forget that this is a person, and there's a real difference between laughing at them for their fuckups, and hoping they KEEP fucking up for either continued amusement or, because you've built your worldview on this person always being below you, the fear that any move up the ladder is one putting them closer to YOU.

"I want Chris in the electric chair NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW!"

I want Chris happy. When Chris is happy he does silly things and makes silly assumptions that he sometimes acts on. I like silly things. They make me laugh. Laughter is fun.

Faggots.

Chris isn't THAT pathetic. He's definitely better off than the average high schooler. Most high schoolers couldn't just get up and go to a transvestite bar alone, especially without consequences.

In fact, I don't think the average college student is better off than Chris. College students are typically stuck on a campus and in a degree program they don't care about. Very few college students gain acceptance, money, and notoriety doing what they like doing.

The difference, dude, is that Chris is 33 years old

Other than the obvious blarms problems, I'm really glad Chris seems so happy. Yeah, she's still fucked up in a lot of ways but at least she's not being totally toxic like ADF or Shaner.

I get the feeling that just being a manchild is very offensive to some folks.

Whether they're the lolcow kind like Chris, or the harmless kind that just likes to play with toy trains into their 50's, I've seen what appears to be a very small but very vocal group that just flips out on them for failing to be "real" men, regardless of any harm the are or are not causing anyone. Some of the hate may be just that, even if he improves, a few will never forgive Chris for being a failure at one point...

Manbabies often come with a host of other shit they're too stubborn to change, in addition to the love of trains, toys, and video games. Things like never blowing their nose because it hurts, just letting snot drip all day. Chris himself doesn't use the toilet as well as a 3 year old does.

I don't know, I think some people are afraid of thee 8 year ride becoming boring or something and reacting like that. Chris ain't winding down for good. "good for him being happy" is kinda a boring comment to read again and again cause like "yeah, we all get its an improvement, who here doesn't wanna see him better off?"

It's sorta like saying "see! I was following this guy for this amount of time and always wanted to see this!"

Which is a great sentiment but probably not why you've been following him for 8 years. It's probably because he's an internet weirdo.

But I mean happy Chris got a weird ass taint piercing and went on a weird ass soul vagina rant. Maced a GameStop employee for no reason and had a weird bizarre kinda racist event happen in sonichu 11.

I mean in general I'm happy he's found a way to cope with his internet infamy that also makes the trolled/troll relationship redeemable and straightforward. (And this statements already getting tiresome to read and I wholeheartedly agree with it)

I think Chris will be entertaining because he's Chris, he's like that friend from high school you visited because of the weird shit he says but never hang out with in public .

That's not to say all of us aren't weird or some shit either cause we all are. I've sort of found the world itself to be as weird as chris, Chris just reflects it through some bizarre prism of autism

Chrisll do something hilarious
That trains never late!

There are some great theories on here for people's rage, I have one of my own.
I think people are just angry because they keep putting Chris in their shoes, and vice versa. You are not Chris, Chris is not you, but I think this is something we all do from time to time, usually unconsciously.
People get angry because if they were to pepper spray someone over something stupid, they'd have the book thrown at them. Others get angry because they have to work a job they hate for 2 weeks (or longer) to make the thousand dollars Chris received without employment. If you pumped out some terrible fanfiction, art and accompanying hunks of crayola clay you would not have a forum full of people making offers, if you applied for assistance even though you're (seemingly) capable of working, you'd be laughed out of the building and told to stop being lazy, if you made sexist, racist or homophobic remarks publicly you would probably not be forgiven when you have a change of heart (or complete change of lifestyle in this case).
You have to follow the rules even when following the rules is hard. It frustrates people when they find someone who these rules don't apply to and they tend to lash out.
I'm not going to defend or attack his actions or words, I don't consider myself a white knight, alogger or troll. Just had this thought and figured I'd share.

I prefer when Chris is happy and multiple people here are angry about it, because that way I have more people to laugh at. Simple mathematics.

Plus, a lot of them seem to have the habit of making forums to whine about how women are selfish bitches for not finding disgusting children to be sexually attractive.

I don't really care weather Chris is happy or not. If he's unhappy, he's tard raging. If he's happy, he's drawing Sonichu and other lol worthy stuff. It's all the same to me.
Right. There is no scenario where Chris suddenly becomes fabulously wealthy to our detriment. I really don't think life on the tugboat could ever be "fabulous".
Unfortunately, we could all wish Chris the best but he'll never become a truly functional member of society.

This is what particularly bugs me about people getting pissed off whenever something good happens to Chris. His life is still not that great. It's not like he's some asshole who won the lottery, he's just happier than he was. It's all relative. I doubt anyone here would want to switch lives with him.

I still think this new period of happiness has to do with how (relatively) busy he's been. Months ago, I said that Chris would be happier if he had a job because it would give him a sense of purpose and drive. Well now with the comics coming back and him embracing his idiotic soapbox tendencies more than he has since 2010, he has that, to an extent. For me, this was never a jealousy issue of "he should work like the rest of us," especially in this era of people making seven figs off of hanging out and playing video games. It's just that he needed to WORK, in some way, for his sake, and as others have explained, ultimately for ours. A proactive Chris is a more active Chris. Isn't that basically what we've wanted all along?

A job wouldn't give Chris purpose or drive. It'd make him terribly miserable.

It's not really having work that's making him feel better, so much as having something (anything, really) in his life other than Barb. Basically Chris has something resembling a social life now.
