Christopher Avellone v. Karissa Barrows, Kelly Bristol, Does 1-100. (2021) - Fallout, Star Wars and Dying Light 2 writer grows a spine

why the fuck would she settle for that? does that make any sense to you?
Avellone has shown he can win, right? And that he is willing to see this through to the end, correct? I reckon she figured if she's gonna lose, better minimize the damages now. Maybe she plans to shill her debt of like that chick who lost her case against Sargon. I doubt Avellone would demand more than she can pay (probably why they needed extra time, to see exactly what that would be), and likewise Barrows probably wants to eventually pay off her debt. Maybe its not her entire life, maybe it's a decade. Better than two.

Barrows will be paying him for the rest of her life, and if he needs the cash now, he can sell that debt to someone else for slightly less in cash.
She had a $133,340 judgment against Chris with her anti-slapp and pro bono attorneys. After winning for free, you think she just decided to take the L and sign up for 7-figure payment plan? She would've been better off going to trial than agreeing to a deal like that.

Why take the certainty of defeat and debt when you've already won once and Chris' second lawsuit was filed outside the statute of limitations? She MeToo'd him on June 19th 2020. Lawsuit #1 was filed June 16th 2021. Lawsuit #2 was filed September 28th 2022. In his separate action against the other girl he tried to claim he only learned of her statements months after the fact. You put that bullshit on the stand on the jury can smell the stink from across the room, if it ever makes it to them. Yeah, her own tweets sucking his dick sink her case too, but getting to 7-figures is still a huge ask.

All of these people will be eating crow. Look how gleeful they all were to destroy a mans life.
They'll do no such thing. They're already calling this a miscarriage of justice, a travesty, and continuing to call him a "sex pest." They're deliberately muddying the waters about who paid what to whom (it's working, too -- just look at this thread; even Farmers seem confused, or at least obtuse).

These vapid cunts need to be punished legally over and over and over again until they learn to shut their holes unless they can make nice things come out.

Putting aside the fact that her so called victory was over jurisdictional issues alone, your words ring hollow, because that is indeed what she chose.

How can someone actually be confused about this? The language is pretty clear. The statement says, and I quote, "settlement that provides for a seven-figure payment that includes the return of the attorney fee award entered against Mr. Avellone in California."

Let me repeat that, "payment that includes the return of the attorney fee award entered against Mr. Avellone in California." There is no way to understand it other than that this is talking about Avellone getting the money. People who are 'confused' are either extremely slow, or more likely, deliberately pretending to be confused

Beats the hell out of me dude. ESL's or something maybe.

And yeah, I'm sure people are being deliberately obtuse, especially on twitter. The clucking hens have to maintain their "he's a sex pest" narrative, after all.

Relevant video from Erik Kain.

For the soy community, it's guilty forever. The same is likely true for the general public, because they are stupid. Anyone who believes in justice and the word of law will acknowledge that he won , he was never convicted of anything and is innocent, and those two whores were required to say they were lying cunts.

I have to say, the way the scales of justice are tipping lately is encouraging. Avellone won against the two whores of Babylon, Roiland had the charges dropped because his ex-was a psychopath. If this continues I would say the tide of nonsense is finally reversing and cancel culture may end up dying like a gutted rat in the sewer.

Planescape isn't a game I've ever thought much of, but Avellone was a good egg to me for not being a lame politics nerd, liking FF7 and dunking on RPG Codex. I suspect a lot of the animus from the people saying "He's a sex creep who deserves to be punished for his crimes, even if they didn't actually happen" is rooted in one of those or any other number of things that have nothing to actually do with sex-pest allegations.

How can someone actually be confused about this?
They are not confused, they are just in denial.

The tide is turning on every left wing/progressive social crusade. Lying women are being sued and losing. There has been a whole raft of 'noticing' in mainstream press over the troons while states start cracking down on them. ESG is being forced marched by the feds while red states ban it along with DEI. We are on the verge of SCOTUS decisions that may penitently eliminate the legality of any use of racial preference in US law AND enshrine an axiomatic religious right to refuse to engage with all the degenerate psycho-sexual identities of the left.

After three decades of nothing but victories, the left have suddenly hit a losing streak and they don't know how to process it. So they just deny it's happening.

All of these people will be eating crow.
How exactly?
Look how gleeful they all were to destroy a mans life.
And they succeeded and (more importantly) will suffer no consequences. There's no incentive to not join in on spreading some broke whore's false accusations. And there's still no incentive for a broke whore to not make false accusations; these ones may shut up, but there will be others. The only ones who may be thinking twice are former spouses who aren't yet broke.

haha, is that Jennifer Scheurle?

the same Jennifer Scheurle that was piggybacking Brian'Na Wu and vaguetweeting about Nolan Bushnell (Atari co-founder) supposedly harboring a misogynistic workplace in the 70's with literally zero evidence, saying "You don’t understand. I don’t have to prove anything to you and neither do they." "they" referring to mystery niggas who most definitely exist according to Jennifer so let's just take her word for it and dogpile on this old fuck with the same meaningless "i believe and stand with you, women of questionable veracity!" platitudes that got Chris cancelled.

you mean the VERY SAME Jennifer Scheurle that accused and doxed some random guy on Facebook of being the perpetrator of a "white supremacist vehicular attack" where a bunch of BLM protesters got mowed down in (while protesting on the highway at night), doubling down on the accusations even after it came to light it was some entirely other (read: black dude) that was responsible?

THE Jennifer Scheurle that gave us the following banger of a tweet?

jpCbohX.jpg

THAT Jennifer Scheurle that got accused of being a manipulative and abusing piece of shit after spending the better part of a decade telling people to "do better" on social media? i'm shocked that she'd be in that feed gleefully contributing to an innocent person's reputation getting ruined based purely on what some random cunt says on Twitter.

Not a lawyer but I recall recent news about fake rape cases ending in jail time for the accusers so these bitches probably chickened out and would rather pay than go to the big house.

I agree, it seems strange.
The two hoes were home free - the appeal went their way (based on the jurisdiction issue), and the statute of limitations meant that Avellone's renewed lawsuit attempts weren't going anywhere.

People in this very thread acknowledged it as a defeat, and said that Avellone should just cut his losses and live his life.
Why would the hoes suddenly agree to an unfavorable settlement in this situation?

Something else must have been going on that we aren't aware of.
Maybe Avellone acquired evidence that is exculpatory to him but embarrassing to them - more embarassing/painful than agreeing to this settlement?
Or maybe Eric Kain fucked up his reporting and the settlement isn't actually as unfavorable to them as described?

There was clearly some sort of tolling in place that we never picked up on, otherwise both defendants would have raised it as an issue, and I do not believe they have. This is one part I am extremely confused about, and was for a long time, because to me it seemed like the refiled suits were dead in the water, but both defendants acted as if the refiled suits weren't dead on arrival.

No news outlet has come out with any evidence to deny what Avellone claimed about the settlement, and that I think is telling, especially since there was apperantely no agreement about not leaking it to the press as Avellone's lawyer did to Forbes.

I think the most reasonable explanation is that Chris decided to drop his lawsuits. While very little had occurred in the second lawsuit against Karissa (the only document she filed was an answer). Kelly had been fighting him for over a year in her own state as she got out of the California lawsuit much earlier than Karissa. Most recently, she filed a counterclaim. She hadn't been ordered to mediation, but settled anyway and reportedly to pay her share of more than a million dollars. I don't believe it.

It honestly makes so much more sense if he paid them off. They're poor, the damage is done, why not take the money and run? Kelly said she had been unemployed for most of the year during covid and then was working as a temp in her affidavit. Having no job or working a shitty one will definitely make you reevaluate your principles.

This actually makes sense.
Everyone has a price and Avallone apparently knew theirs. He offers to drop the case in exchange for the deletion of the Defendants' statements and "Go away " money.

I left out the most important part, whatever his actions were, they were OK with it at the time, so it's not even hush money in the way people would think it is. They got their pound of flesh as spurned lovers or whatever. If he let them walk away, why not take him up on that offer? But if he demanded a million dollars, I don't doubt they would've told him to eat shit because they've got nothing to take if he wants to go to trial.
