Been waiting 24 years for him to have a redemption arcSo was Ramsus. But you know how that went.
Two worlds in Chrono Cross, two versions of each party member/NPC. The game is confusing at its base, and required an infodump at the end to explain the convoluted plot.Chrono Cross was way too complicated for me
Like Square actually cares about any property that isn't Final Fantasy 7.It might benefit from a FF7:R treatment. See the cool stuff happen, instead of telling you about the cool stuff in text dumps.

There was an expansion that came out sometime late last year for FF7R that featured Yuffie, but nobody played it because it's a PS5 and Epic Store exclusive.Do they even care about that at this point? It's been like two years and they still haven't even announced the next part of the remake, right? (or did I just miss it? There's a good chance of that too)

I think you just missed it. It's suppose to be coming out this year.Do they even care about that at this point? It's been like two years and they still haven't even announced the next part of the remake, right? (or did I just miss it? There's a good chance of that too)
My bad, the article said it "looks to be coming out this year".Has this been announced or is this how like GTA fans have been saying GTA VI is going to release for the past few years? Cause I can't find shit on this.

If they're going to do that they need to do it with Trigger, not Cross.
Yeah, I think this is something that a lot of people forget. What people want is more of the same of what made the originals great, but what Squareenix will deliver is a bloated, over-priced, chopped to shit assfest.I too, think what trigger/cross needs is a delayed multi-million dollar blown out project where they chop the game in two parts and deliver the first one within 10 to 100 years from now. Just in time for the day of Lavos.
Give the licenses to Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, or Atlus, or the Dragon Quest team then. Any of those could pull off a respectable new Chrono game. This is a really sad truth.
It's teams of people mixing together that produces great, quality material. The team at Square that gave us the Final Fantasies, Chrono Triggers, Secrets of Manas that we grew up with, they're gone. There's new teams there with new priorities, so yeah any effort at making a new CT, even if it wasn't a trainwreck, would be a very different animal.
Or heck, I'd take Atlus or Falcom too. Any studio that doesn't recoil in horror at the concept of a turn based JRPG.Give the licenses to Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, or Atlus, or the Dragon Quest team then. Any of those could pull off a respectable new Chrono game.
