I mean, he already has awful skits and "lore" that interrupts the review. He's had that from the beginning and it doesn't seem like a parody.>Wacky lamp shaded crossover in an another content producer's video
Everyday Civvie inches towards becoming the channel awesome tier content producer he parodied at the start.
He had the forethought to at least keep those skits short (usually 10 seconds or less), so it's still bearable.I mean, he already has awful skits and "lore" that interrupts the review. He's had that from the beginning and it doesn't seem like a parody.
Implying the dude ever had an uphill to start with.He had the forethought to at least keep those skits short (usually 10 seconds or less), so it's still bearable.
Now, if he starts dedicating fucking minutes to this shit is how you know he's gonna be going downhill.
I don't mind that sort of shit on a silly grabbag video like that. It's not my cup of tea, but it's clear he just wanted to fill in space. The whole video is filler anyway. He had the forethought to at least keep those skits short (usually 10 seconds or less), so it's still bearable.

I watched it on the side while doing other stuff and it's not really about Christmas so much as notable crazy right-leaning commentators profiting off of the idea of a war on Christmas, but hbomberguy is an insufferable faggot in all of his videos who tries way too hard to be cool. Not that I've seen them all, I've seen 3, but still. One of the others I saw was him jacking off New Vegas, which is certainly a great game, but he reads too deep into things to try to find social commentary that isn't there because he's a fucking crazy person where literally everything is politics to him.>hbomberguy
>fedora-tipping video filled with comments from bitter basement dwellers whose parents wouldn't let them smoke weed on Sundays and forced them to go to church
Holy crap, could that video be any more of a stereotype? I refuse to watch that degenerate shit but I'd bet money it's got at least one citation from the Bible where it cherry-picks a verse to "own the Right" and totally misses the point.
Does he bring up how distorted the audio sounds? I’ve never been able to getpast that with OG Half-Life.Awwww shit
No, he doesn't mention the weird audio at all. The only person I've seen that brings it up is LGR.Does he bring up how distorted the audio sounds? I’ve never been able to getpast that with OG Half-Life.
I personally like HD models for early 3D games, early 3D is ugly as fuck. No, he doesn't mention the weird audio at all. The only person I've seen that brings it up is LGR.
He talks about the HD models though. Doesn't seem to like them very much and I don't blame him.
I was looking forward for Ross from Accursed Farms to make a cameo and I was not disappointed.Awwww shit
Are you talking about that weird digital echo you sometimes hear in the footsteps?Does he bring up how distorted the audio sounds? I’ve never been able to getpast that with OG Half-Life.
Speaking for myself, and as someone who also started out playing the HD models, I thought they felt out of place with the original game's aesthetics. They look a little too clean in contrast with the low-poly environments, and the models look too good for the wonky animations they have to work with from the original. When I first got HL, it came with Opposing Force and Blue Shift so I always had the HD faces, and I think they look fine. Why do people not like them?

Black Mesa has lots of open areas where the floor, ceiling, and walls are all metal, so it makes sense that everything would be echoing. Are you talking about that weird digital echo you sometimes hear in the footsteps?
It was a great remake. They even went back to On A Rail and redid it again for their final update a couple months ago.Maybe it's just my ears going the way of the boomer with age, but back when I first played Half-Life I thought how echo-y the audio engine sounded like was really distracting. These days, though? I don't actually notice it.
I wonder if Civvie is ever going to do a video on Black Mesa. Of all the remakes-by-people-other-than-the-original-creators out there, this is the only one I truly enjoyed. Them taking an axe to half of On A Rail definitely helped with that, although Xen (once it was finally released) dragged on and the aesthetic was way too hit-and-miss once you got to the alien factories.
Xen was 10x better in the remake imo, especially interloper. You don't need to fight the Vortigaunts and you get an achievement for avoiding to kill Vortigaunts and just kill the mind-controller flying niggasXen (once it was finally released) dragged on and the aesthetic was way too hit-and-miss once you got to the alien factories.
