True, but get this: I didn't know it existed so I like the video. Plus it's a game from Brazil so it's a piece of gaming history brought onto a bigger stage that would otherwise risk being forgotten.

Games like this are occasionally worth talking about so that when some high-profile title is released and ends up being a bust, you can laugh at all the know-nothings who call it "The Worst Game Ever."

The biggest problem with blood is the hitscan instant hit cultists, especially around corners. The only way to counter them is to savescum or throw a dynamite stick at every corner. I have a feeling playing on a high frame rate makes the problem harder since you have far less time to react.

I played Blood back in 2016 and at first I was loving it, but then the game kept going and going and eventually I just got bored, that was more of an issue than the difficulty for me.

Which is exactly what Civvie did, incidentally. The guy turned those bundles of dynamite into his waifu through the entire series. Every corner, an explosion.

In his episode 3 video that’s where Civvie says the game starts to drag (Just like in Doom though funnily enough Duke 3D has the reverse where the second episode of the original trilogy is the weakest and the third is the strongest)

BloodGDX and the Fresh Supply port both have a custom difficulty slider that can adjust certain mechanics by diffculty because it's all over the goddamn place. Usually enemy count on hardest, enemy health and damage taken on easiest, and normal for everything else does the trick. I assume he used the regular difficulty because he used multiple ports for the videos (first three episodes used BloodGDX, the fourth was played on NBlood, and the fifth on Fresh Supply)

I really like Heretic and Civvie does too from what he said at the start. I think he played it on highest difficulty for the video entertainment value, wouldn't be much to rage about if he just blasted through the game so better to show it on the kick me in the nuts difficulty.

Reminded me of this guy on youtube that did a black plague playthrough doing a wand start on every level like a fucking madman. I don't tend to watch LPs but like these types where the person knows the game inside out and adds interesting and insightful commentary to the playthrough.

Civvie and LGR are the only two YouTubers that I look forward to. The recent Heretic episode was awesome. Having not played the game since I was a child, I had totally forgotten how unforgiving the game could be. It’s funny that he mentioned the “6th episode,” but totally neglected to comment on the adverse effect of Doom cheat codes in the game.

Like LGR, I hope he manages to keep his nose clean.
 
I'm a little surprised he didn't mention "succing" a maulotaur to death with the powered-up gauntlets
 
After re-watching his videos on Shadow Warrior, I decided to give it myself a try and I think I managed to outclass the guy since I somehow beat two shadow ninjas with just a pair of SMG's and the riot shotgun.
