Class of 09 - Its like if James Gunn and the rest of Troma was hired to make a video game based off Mean Girls back in 2009

ngl I really think the creator didn't need to turn this game into a series or franchise. Everything was perfectly fine as just a self-contained one off VN. It's obvious he's one of those creators who hates his own fanbase because they interpreted it a different way (based ngl). But literally that only started when he made the second game (fucking yurifags) and then decided to milk it. Sorry, but you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Even then the well is already poisoned. Anything related to yuri/lesbians in current media is just 100% troon bait at this point unless you're an actual natal lesbian who sets their game on steam to be 41% off.
His final message in the game stated that he was surprised that the fans were only partially the predicted target audience of 30-somethings reminiscing the angsty high school years, with the rest being the teenage Tiktok audience that said the social scenarios were accurate to this day.

Seems more like he was embarrassed to be affiliated with them than his original intended demographic and went the route he did with his series, just to be rid of them for good.

If I had to describe this game with one word it would be Fernweh. It means "a strong desire to be in places one has never been". The creator as his thread shows its a friendless loser and likely always has been so he makes a game that's the exact opposite of what he experienced and where he's part of the cool kids and not a fat edgelord. But at the same time he's still seething about it, 15 years later, so of course he has to make the placeholders for his classmates "pay".

Quoting from a long gone kiwi:
there was an archive channel (that was not his) called "Sobroarchive" or something like that and it showed Macks on a lake dock, fat as ever talking to two decent looking girls and he was literally being his youtube persona infront of them as they were laughing, though it might work for his videos it sure as shit is not applicable to real life banter, it just came across as awkward. He claims one of them asked him to a prom in a livestream he did like 5 years ago when someone linked this very video in chat but it struck me as bullshit.
See what I mean?

And now with the last part he's making his fanbase "pay" too, and he still wonders why he remains a friendless loser...

Also cringe.
If you're too cheap to buy the game you can just watch playthroughs online such as this one
Did you forget piracy exists?
Look at this video down here and tell me it's not how teenagers act.
Its not, I was in HS around that time and we didn't act like this.

There just seems to be such a disconnect between audience and game. Game is obviously meant to be crass and edgy, but these people are offended by the implication of making fun of le heckin awesome autistic people.

I'm more pissed off that aspies have ruined cargo shorts for everybody else.
You can see this in every big fanbase on twitter or reddit, people like it because of what they think the media is about
People share memes of smiling friends without ever having watched one of the 10min episodes. I seen kids calling Patrick Bateman "sigma guy" and not even knowing what American Psycho was.

Ok Mr cargo shorts, sure you and your buddies didn't act like this, and therefore no one did.

Even when they came out people were mocking cargo shorts weirdos for being spergs. The white urkel on grounded for life loved these and the cargo pants you could unzip into shorts

Finished the series, 99% of the success of the games is due to the dialogue being funny enough for people to make YouTube animations of the characters, and without the voice actors it would have been completely overlooked.
I have opinions on Flipside but I can't figure out how to put them into words at the moment, Too long didn't write is that Flipside fails as a entry in the series and has nothing going for it, it doesn't conclude anything that the last 2 game didn't themselves, and everything presented in it is basically a re-hash of what was done in the last two games. The only reason it seems to exist is so SBN3 can finish his retarded secret message story and shill his merch store.

VANS long cargo shorts were great for skating and BMX because your stuff didn't go flying off your pockets in the middle of the skate park, not that you would know since all you did was stay inside and seethe on the internet, and now you created an entire thread to gargle balls for a shitty VN made by some morbidly obese schizo NEET with a triple chin who is mentally stuck in HS despite being in his 30s.

Cope and sneed.

for NERDS!

i'm not the one basically going "i hate BBT because everyone tells me i remind them of Sheldon! Using Bazinga as a catch phrase used to be cool till the autists stole it from me"
Keep seething loser, you're simping for the shithead from combusting herpes, its pathetic.

And bringing up the bazinga show, are you gonna post the 2007 copypasta too? canadian medicine yourself already.

So, my understanding of this is that a self-hating nerd who peaked in life making abridged anime dubs decided to make an "ironic" VN despite never having played one and it proceeded to get super popular among kids who were in diapers during 2009 who only like the edgy humor and shipping the characters together instead of the dev projecting his insecurities about being the kid who was too normal for the tards but too autistic for the normies biting satire, so the dev decided to crash the franchise with no survivors by making half the last the game about his foot fetish which drove all the fans (including the people outside the tiktok addicted kid demographic) away.

So, in short:
now this may strike some viewers as harsh.png

Also, from what I've read of the dev, I genuinely believe that he could've been a dobson-tier lolcow if he was 5 IQ points lower or started doing shit a decade earlier. Good god what a miserable twat.

Pilot just dropped:
Okay, so I watched it, and ngl, it's pretty disappointing.

Tl;dr:
  • The animation is pretty rough. Of course no one was expecting like actual studio quality, but it's stiffer than what you'd expect.
  • It's not funny. This is mainly because it jumps from scene to scene way too fast. One of the reasons the first two games were so funny is because scenes went on long enough for funny things to actually happen which isn't the case here because scenes end in less than a minute so nothing can really happen.
  • This biggest stand-out to me as well as overall complaint is that Jecka, and Nicole seem to have their personalities switched for most of the episode. Meaning, Jecka is the over-the-top vindictive one, and Nicole is the passive ride along until the end where they suddenly switch back. It's pretty jarring, especially after seeing The Flipside. Having said that, all the characters are a lot more in-character than they were in The Flipside which is a great thing because holy shit, one of the biggest problems with that game was just how OOC everyone was.
  • Jeffery gets knocked out by Nicole, and bleeds a metric fuckton during the ending. I'm only noting it because it's really weird, and at first looks like it's going to lead into one of those live action segments, but then just doesn't, so I dunno if it's supposed to be a joke, or actually something important.

There's a loose A-B plot with Nicole wanting the Fuck belt and Jecka fucking with Hot Topic, but yeah it's a mess. It's caused by having too many characters at once because of fan... I can't say service because pleasing fans isn't what SBN does. Anyways, every character has to get their gimmick in so no one gets to stand out. And it's 12 minutes long, which is half the length of a standard episode, but it's still bloated. Just intuition speaking, but I feel like if it was cut down to make sense (i.e. focus on plot relevant characters only), it'd be 5 minutes.
