People care because at one point they were good. They also care since Marvel dying due to assholes who would rather go broke than not be woke would nuke the industry and take their hobby with it since they make up like 40% of the American comic industry in units.

why people care so much about marvel comics?
Marvel is one of the 'Big 2'. The Big 2 are the biggest / best selling / well know comic publishing companies.

Imagine the comics market as a 2 legged table, each of the Big 2 is a leg that holds up the entire comics direct market. When Marvel does bad, its like having a loosened/damaged leg.

You could also argue that the market is a 3 legged table with DC, Marvel, Indies each holding up the industry, but imo it doesn't apply mostly because the indie market is smaller. Outside of certain titles most people cant name a single indie character but are more likely to know characters from either of the Big 2.

The funny thing is how all these woketards wormed their way into comics by taking a part time job in a comics shop so suddenly they’re mega comic fans that have more say on how the industry should be than someone who read comics their whole life. It’s the same with indie gamers/gaming media and gamer gate imo.

I don’t think these people are truly fans, regardless of the “it’s ok to be critical of media you like” bullshit. These people are snakes that want to destroy something that others like because they think they’re being excluded. They could enjoy comics as is.

The worst part is comics have always been inclusive. If you didn't find what you're looking for from the Big 2, there's literally hundreds of indies that cater to you. But they NEED to worm their way into the cape books because they have mainstream appeal.

They have no love for comics, they've shown themselves to actively use the medium to push their agenda.

They always claim that superheroes are SJWs, but they're mental midgets that cannot see that a superhero's brand of "social justice" goes against their brand of "social justice". You can search through decades of publication history to find examples of actual social justice or you can cherry pick that one POSTER where Superman calls himself a social justice warrior:

This is something i love to do when they pull out that poster, i just show them this ACTUAL issue from Action Comics:

Most of them also have this absolute hatred of America and it's laws/rights. They view being patriotism as fascism:

They support no platforming:

Here's one that is used very often from Green Arrow/Lantern, a series that was canceled early because of low sells (DC tried this whole thing so long ago and it failed back then too):

The problem being that because Hal hasn't directly fought to defend some black guy, that's bad ad he should feel like a racist turd. Ignore the fact that he's saved the Earth (which last time i checked had black people in it) and his sector of space hundreds of times.

Hal Jordan was a legit racist though. Like, well outside of that particular comic, he was the social conservative to GA's social liberal. He didn't hate blacks, per se, but he definitely expressed the opinion that they should "stick with their own kind".

But they NEED to worm their way into the cape books because they have mainstream appeal.

Standard SJW behaviour. There's all sorts of comics giving them what they want, but they want it to be in the comics they already read - or, more realistically, in the comics they've heard of because of the movies. It's not enough for it to exist, it has to be the mainstream or it's pointless. And they never seem to realise that their beliefs, or at least how far they take them, aren't mainstream.

It's a large part of why they're never happy so they shouldn't be catered to just because they're REEEEing. They'll never stop complaining because they're not trying to achieve anything other than a nebulous ideal world that can never exist. Really they should just be ignored, except the salt is amusing.

I've proposed previously in this thread that the comic book industry should be used as a sacrificed to distract SJWs from far more relevant and important industries/hobbies. I stand by this.

A containment industry where they can do the least damage.

SF&F's trajectory suggests otherwise. SJW ideology is a cancer, not a plague of vermin. If you don't cut it out, it WILL metastasize.

not to mention that even john stewart (the best green lantern) had to deal with similar issues

It’s because they want the masses to read their comic about washing black hair to “understand their struggles and empathize” then give them money and jobs and standing ovations when they walk down the street.

D&C's crowdfunding campaign (together with also-targeted artist Jon Malin doing the art) is live: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/jawbreakers-lost-souls-graphic-novel#/

Looks like it's doing reasonably well so far; almost reaching the $5k goal in about an hour. (Although D&C's probably leaving money on the table not running it through KS just because it would cause a few days of delay getting the campaign approved) .

It will be interesting to see if there's any spreging afoot from SJW's trying to get the campaign taken down of something. I can't see them not reacting somehow, even though that's of course just what the campaign would benefit from.

Jesus, that is going up faster than I would've imagined.

I wonder if Zack's little crowdfunding event is "moving the needle" given how quickly he's hitting his goal? He's literally just 2k short of the 20k goal he hoped for and is clearly over the 5k minimum he asked for on the first day.

Hell, I'll probably fling money at it within a couple weeks myself given the penciled pages look genuinely good.
