Post likes to compare himself to a Hollywood producer. He thinks of himself as an "idea man". College of the Dead was his original genius idea.

Just like a Hollywood producer he said "Zombies were hot ten years ago. Let's see if we can drag the last bucket of mud up from that well."
My god, I bet the writers/artists on these $10-$12k campaigns of his get absolute shit for money after he takes his cut considering his name is all over the cover (not just as part of the logo, but above the writer as well). Guess that's the price for being the idea guy and doing all the fantastic promo work in his role as a stale crouton in the Caesar salad.

I wish. I found the Zach who threw comics into the pipes in his NYC apartment while full of inchoate, righteous autism tinged anger endlessly amusing. The coughing and stuttering offering a sort of audio accompaniment approaching perfection.

Maybe I wouldn't any more after all this time if he'd kept up with that shtick, dunno, but those days are long gone.
The lawsuit really neutered his commentary. That and he probably got tired of too many psychos going berserk because he was too mean about calling their book shit.

Adam has some weird taste,

Taste has nothing to do with it; Post just buys the rights to free webcomics and then has them incompetently printed to hawk to Comicsgaters for $25 a pop. That's the reason he has the formatting issue - the comics in question were originally made for browser windows. But I guess that's a small price to pay for the benefit of verbal filler on Frog's show.

Zack's physical vanity is a pale shadow to his intellectual vanity. It gave him the confidence to develop his thesis on the comic industry and the assertiveness to pursue it in the face of heavy opposition but he'd rather withdraw and possibly collapse completely rather than concede or even be challenged on his theories of how things are. It's the sort of problem I have trouble sympathizing with since it's remedied by simply paying attention to the people around him. If he's got the right idea things are going great, but god help him if there's something he hasn't considered before making up his mind.

That's actually on the nose. I've had trouble sorting out just how to put it but vanity is as good as any.

You really think his takeaway from this is to get his fulfillment locked in with a different third party?

It should be, but it won't. He'll have to fail repeatedly before he learns anything.

Hell, the dude has three children with three different mothers while spending a good chunk of his life abroad.

Says it all. Three kids and raising none of them.

Gonna disagree?

Richard always wanted to be a comic creator. That's slowly come out over time. Guy had a portfolio, went to shows, tried to get in via the Indies. Nothing worked, with people rightfully rejecting him as an artist and as a writer in the 90s. Fastfoward, he has consistently over his life put out comics nobody wanted. Come to 2017 and Richard gets to vent at an industry that consistently rejected him due to said industry falling into the shit.

Fastfoward again. Richard is now a 'successful' comic book creator. His books sell Savage Dragon numbers. But it's not what he wanted!

All these pros he idolized are still rejecting him. Larry Hama, Brian Stinkbug. There's a reason he keeps working with guys like Mike Baron and Chuck Dixon. Why he fan boyishly swooned over Cuckfaybe despite them being two of the biggest posers, only to reject them when it became clear they wouldn't let him into the club.

I've said my frustration with him is he has the dream he always wanted, but doesn't want to do the parts he doesn't like. I may have misdiagnosed that. His dream was to be in comic shops, to be in the industry. Regardless of his statements to the contrary. That's why he doesn't deliver the fiery diatribes and over the top stuff. That's why he's withdrawn and almost sullen about the things that brought him to the dance.

I take it all back. Adam Post is a genius!!!!!

He's taking web comics from 8 or 9 yrs ago, spending what looks like zero dollars on reformatting them and then selling them to ComicsGate smooth-brains for a tidy little low effort profit with the help of FROG.

Do the CG faithful know this is how he "produces" comics?

I have a hard time imagining they'd be excited to buy 9 yr old stale mermaid fantasy books that are just retreaded (poorly) web comics probably available for free to anyone with wifi.

CG just gets funnier and funnier. This might be my favorite CG grift yet.

He was a nobody who got mad at something he read, made some ranting youtube videos (he had another channel as per his very first video) and he blew up.
Then psychos went after him and, him being a professional soldier, fought back.

His main point is: he is not a grifter. That's why he blew up and this is why he currently flounders.

Meh.

Then psychos went after him and, him being a professional soldier, fought back.

Professionals and their proxies. He also didn't fight back for too long. He quit. He took the knee on social media, took the knee in Court, and he's taking a knee in his reviews.

He's a life long grifter who sold his books on spite Mark Waid/the comic pros. He's floundering because he got exposed and he isn't putting out good stuff.

Man, that's rough. Feels.

I remember a webcomic being mentioned when he was pressed about the formatting of College of the Dead. I seem to recall him claiming the second would be different. Which it is, as it's in color and it's six identically sized panels per page instead of two. But still trash. I shouldn't be at all surprised that Mermaids is also from a webcomic. And woe is Adam, for he has to actually do some work this time and reformat the pages (or pay someone to do it) because he actually got called out by fans and pros alike. But I'd really like to know what this is all about. Adam is even less of a creator than I thought if he just buys the rights to webcomics that he had nothing to do with. I also want to see if I can find and read this Mermaids comic online.

Is Adam Post the Rob Granito of CG?

These are the two supposed writers of Mermaids. Neither one has tweeted about it. Neither one is even followed by Adam Post. It seems they have absolutely no involvement with the campaign. I can only find one post from either of them that even vaguely references the existence of this comic:

Stefan Petrucha was also the writer for College of the Dead. Now, he did in fact talk a bit about that one. As recently as... 2014:

So, what's the deal here? Do we know if they've been paid? Are they even aware that their gutter trash webcomics from 2013 are being sold as physical GNs to a bunch of dupes like myself? If you'll pardon the pun, lads, it seems there's some very... fishy going on here!

I always thought that Mermaid book looked bad.... its not sexy, the action looks bad, character designs are boring and worst of all page formatting and colors are bland. If Frog really does have the ComicsGate TM, start adding some standards.. old web comics should be the cutoff point. LOL

Is Post really reselling free web comics and did you know?

Is "payola" a type of fish?

Surprise! A movement focused on The Customer First turns out to be a meritocracy after all.

If this work has any merit, it doesn't belong to Adam Post.

It seems that he's an untalented pud that has mysteriously found himself with a regular place at the CG grown ups table by selling repurposed, amateur tier webcomics he didn't write or draw. If there's merit to it, shouldn't that spot belong to the guys that actually created this shit?

Imagine being the creators of these stories and seeing that piece of human cardboard make $12k on some dumb comic you crapped out on the web 8 years ago. Your stuff gets showcased on one of the biggest indie comics channels on YouTube with the credit and money going to Adam "dull as a" Post. I'd top myself.

I was just about to address this. The more I think about it, the more annoyed I become.

ComicsGate was supposed to give creators the freedom to release work they're passionate about and not be hemmed up by purple-haired gatekeepers. Both established pros and bright-eyed hopefuls could take the stage and put out their best. Now, as much grief as I give people like the Diaz brothers for being legitimately talentless, at least they're creating original work that they clearly care about. And in comes Adam fucking Post, seeing an opportunity to make some cash and scrapes the bottom of the fucking barrel by finding low-quality webcomics from eight years ago, packages them up in margins that could serve as a canvas for Michelangelo and sells them for $25 a pop. Truly, his profit margins must be as big as those on the page with the amount of effort that went into these books. Sure, grifters are inevitable. But this cunt is still around and still popping into every other EVS stream, boring the audience and the panel to tears. Fuck this guy and his literal schemes and scams. Futhermore... NOWHERE on the camapaign pages for CotD or Mermaids is it detailed that these were originally webcomics published in 2013. What an absolute, shady scumbag.

I do not believe I've used this word since joining this site and it's not something I am inclined to accuse someone of being, but Adam Post is a fucking GRIFTER. This is outrageous. Yes, I'm mad at the internet and mad at the amount of money I dropped on those two piece of shit zombie books. And the fact that the cover says ADAM POST'S College of the Dead... the fucking audacity, man. Imagine if EVS slapped his name in front of Starblades. Even if the CotD books were good, where would the praise go? As I already addressed, Adam doesn't even follow the writers. He doesn't talk about them. He doesn't platform the artists. Why? Oh because he had no involvement in the books' creation? This isn't his fucking team. This isn't his project. He doesn't care about these properties. He is trying to be Ray Kroc but without the charisma, business savvy, or appealing product.

Know what would be a fun experiment? Hey @FROG, next time Adam is on the show, you should ask him the names of some of the characters from College of the Dead. Since he had absolutely no creative input and they're not memorable in the slightest, I wonder what would happen. I wonder if he even read them. Is the auction tonight or tomorrow? Get him on. Would be a good time. Maybe he can even sell an NFT to an original Mermaids panel "page."

they know now And that’s real fucked up of him. If I were Ethan I would put distance from myself and Post ASAP.
