Communists - That time when 100 million people died wasn't REAL communism, comrade

sorry if this has already been posted

By the metric of rate of crime, rate of poverty, rate of illness. Things like that. Communism done right far exceed the performance in those areas than capitalism does. Capitalism encourages individuals and crime is all about individualism. Communism encourages communal thinking, making it more difficult to commit individualistic crimes and giving less incentive to commit crimes.

For example, if all your money is regulated by government, then if you try to steal money from someone else, you wont be able to use the money because you got it from unknown origins and communism done right does not accept money from unknown origins. Thus stealings maain motivation sis eliminated
Ok, I see where you're coming from better now. I don't agree with any of it but thanks for indulging me. The Bancor is a terrible idea. A world currency is terribly dystopian, but yes it does have the advantage of not being able to be counterfeit or stolen.

You might get what you want if bitcoin really does take over the world. I personally hope not for privacy reasons.

Why must people insist on bringing the absolute failures of the 19th and 20th century into the 21st? I see people bring things like Communism up as a legitimate basis of economics and governance despite its unending list of failures in comparison to almost every prior system (in most cases, even outcomes worse than good old-fashioned Feudalism would provide!) without a shred of embarrassment.
It's like pretending the Freudian perspective should be held as a legitimate mode of Psychiatry, or that the structural basis of Critical Theory has been a contributed anything of note to the fields of sociology and political philosophy- sure, it might go over well with leftover ideologues and uninformed, but anyone with a shred of historical perspective and relevant education will laugh you out of the room.

It's like people want to repeat history without thinking of the consequences. Nobody wants to live the way they are.

Communism is too broad a topic to fall into the category of lolcows. It's a stream of ideas going back to Plato and his Sparta-inspired Ideal Republic, encompassing some early Christian churches, the Jesuit colonies in South America during the Renaissance, social experiments of the 18th, 19th and 20th century, modern oligarchic communism of GDR and USSR fame and some bizarre little "utopias" such as Best Korea...

If anything, the lolcow topic should be focused on internet communists, or alt-Stalin or whatever the corresponding brainsewers of reddit choose to call themselves.

So, it seems like everyone here is more interested in discussing Communism than in posting things Communist cows are saying, so if its ok with @Cosmos Im gonna move this one to deep thoughts when I get back from the store, and if you guys wish you can start a "Commie Cows" thread if you wish.

Yeah, it seems like that's the best option. I may try to start up a Commie Cows thread soon and I'll make sure to direct communism discussion to this thread instead.
