A Starbucks employee has been fired after he fought off two armed robbers who were attempting to rob the store, and subdued one of them until police arrived. This apparently violated Starbuck’s safety policy:

This occurred after one of them pistol-whipped him and part of the “gun” broke off, revealing to another employee it was fake.

The employee now plans on suing Starbucks.

The leader of Comicsgate, Ethan Van Sciver (@FROG on KF, though he hasn't logged in in forever) is engaged in a (mostly one-sided) war with Rippaverse creator (and bane of Dick Materson's existence) Eric July for some time now. It is believed this is because Eric July has smashed EVS's sales records with his own comic series, and deeply wounded Ethan's ego by doing so outside the auspices of CG. This has even gone as far as him aiding Dick Masterson, Vito, Riley, Mint Salad, and others, in their crusade against July.

A few days ago, Ethan did a stream in which he argued that people attacking Vito are no different than when people at D.C. Comics tried to cancel him for "being a Nazi." Among other things, he explicitly states that if Vito is a pedo, it's none of our (meaning CG's) business.


Then, last night, some degenerate apparently heard this Vito sympathetic horseshit, and worked up the courage to suggest to Ethan that a comics artist by the name of Dave Sim, who had been seemingly gatekept out of CG for grooming a 14 year old girl a long time ago, should be invited in because the age of consent laws are bullshit anyways (his argument, none mine). This leads to very awkward situation where EVS immediately ends his stream.


In closely related news, despite knowing very little about CG, Null is a goddamned prophet. God bless Null.

It would appear that the website Null set up for the legal fund is again open to donations after hitting a transaction limit earlier and is about halfway to the goal.
EDIT : Looks to be closed again and back on a 24 hour cooldown

The second technical day of the lolcow litigation (going by 24-hour reset time on transaction limits) has already reached another significant figure of 25,000+ USD earned for the Second Time since being announced.

It now sits at a figure of no less than 60,000 USD by trackable amounts via the website; total figure not including crypto and mail orders.

This is only members that were able to donate when the transaction limit hadn't even reached.

Unlike notable failed fundraising goals, the litigation fund is set to meet its goal within 48 hours. If it weren't for the cap it likely would have been met.

In less than 24 hours, we have officially reached our goal. We were at $69330 at the start of this post. This is purely based on the fundraiser alone, not including money orders, crypto, and other means of donating. I've read on the thread that Null is getting $2.5k in money orders. With the help of this community, big and small, it took less than a day to fund this lawsuit.

While it's been repeated multiple times in the lawsuit thread, this is more than just ourselves. This is for our freedom of speech on the internet, we should be able to discuss different views without being censored by social media. We should be able to laugh at retards without issue.

Edit: Not long after this post, we are currently at 73k. Will update if someone else doesn't do it already

Nick Rekieta ended up showing up for his last two shows of the week after missing three in a row with curious cancellation messages.

Nick now admits misleading his audience when he claimed that he had to cancel his shows due to being ill. Rekieta now claims that although he did have "a sore throat" and his "voice got fucked up", that "could have just been from me yelling".

The next day he cancelled that stream due to a "medical issue" but did not explicitly claim to be the one with the medical issue:

Rekieta now claims that he missed three shows in a row due to "a medical issue in my family" which forced him to be awake for 48 hours, but in his Locals poststream he refused to elaborate in any detail at all on what the medical issue was or even who had the medical issue:

"Like I said it's private medical thing, family, not a big, ended up not being a big deal, it's one of those things where you just have to keep an eye on someone. You have to make, uh, you have to make sure, that there's not a problem. That just means, monitoring, someone with them at all times, stuff like that. Not a big deal, all done, all good, seems fine, still in that kind of like weird period where like something could go wrong I guess, being intentionally vague because people don't have to know everything."
