There has been some drama tonight in the King of the Hill fan communities. Jonathan Joss, the voice of John Redcorn, is possibly dead.

After a public and incoherent meltdown a few days ago, actor / voice actor Jonathan Joss has been shot and killed.

Joss is the voice actor for John Redcorn, the Native American 'new-age healer' and adulterer in the animated series King of the Hill, which aired from 1997 to 2009. He also played small (often Native American) roles in other shows such as Parks & Rec.

King of the Hill has been in the news recently due to new trailers and info about the long-awaited revival, starting in August 2025. Joss returned to reprise his role in a number of episodes in the revival.

Joss had severe mental health and addiction problems, further exacerbated by losing his home and dogs in a house fire earlier this year. His condition has been bad enough that even though he did work on the revival, he was deliberately not invited to a panel discussion a couple of days ago from the cast and crew, but showed up any way, babbling about his life, his sexuality, and shining shoes just like his dad. Joss would be escorted out peacefully, allegedly offering to shine shoes of attendees for 5 bucks a pop.

Perhaps the first occurrence of a direct attack on any part of a nation's nuclear triad in history. On January 1st a series of wooden huts were being transported by truck on the territory of the Russian Federation. Slats in the roof opened and a secret cargo of drones was released piloted by what is believed to be a mixture of autonomous flight and cellular communication. An enterprising Kiwi has dug up the Police report relating to Richard "Lowtax" Kyanka's suicide, including his suicide note, in which he blames everyone else but himself for his problems.

I gave the report a read. Here are the notable things that caught my eye:

-The report mentions that he had a 2018 Black Nissan Armada parked in his driveway. I was pretty sure the car Lowtax obsessed over was a Nissan GTR. Did he trade it in at some point before he offed himself?
-According to the OP, Lowtax's last known communication was a Discord message at 9:30 AM on the day of his death. The report says that his actual last known communication was a suicide note he emailed his dad at 10:15.
-The email outright states he did it because of how fucked over he was in both of his divorce cases. He told his dad to just call the police so they didn't have to see his corpse.
-He locked his dog outside right before he shot himself. The report says the dog was unharmed and taken to an animal shelter.
-As @Throwing Romans already stated, the report confirmed he had offed himself with the FN5.7, but it also mentioned two gun cases were sitting on his bed. One for the 5.7, and another for an unspecified rifle. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little curious about what the rifle was and/or why he chose the 5.7 over that.
-Rich's suicide email he sent to his dad was forwarded to a police officer who included it in the report. I'm including it under the spoiler for posterity, bad grammar and punctuation intact:

Happy Pride, sisters. Jim's is off to a great stat with clear losses almost straight across the board, saved only by his Bluesky holding steady.

Two major points I feel worthy of attention. Firstly the sharp drop in Jim's views for his new videos, severe losses across every metric despite the same amount of uploads as the previous month.

The second, far more interesting point though, is that Jim's Patreon has once again hit a new milestone, dropping under $8,000. This technically happened last month, but I held off on announcing it because it was only barely under and there was a chance it would scrape back over (which it did, as it remained just above $8k for all of May).

Of course he's still getting more money than he deserves, but with sub-700k subscribers still a distant dream it's nice to have something to celebrate, I'm sure you'll agree.

If you're confused why this is significant when $7,929 a month is still a preposterous amount of money for a man who puts out 4 YouTube videos a month, then I will take this opportunity to remind you that at his peak Jim was bringing in a staggering $15,061 for whining about video games on the Internet.
