in an update to this the actual number is currently at 27. The “72 senators” number was from the previous congress and consists of senators who are no longer senators, as it died in the last session and now has to start over. It is still worrysome as this number consists of many of the same names who supported the last attempt, the number will likely increase as the session goes on, and many Tech companies have shown their support for the new version.

OP is retarded. The bill linked in the op is from the last congressional session. If a bill doesn't get passed during the session its introduced in, it has to start over and get a new bill number.
