Realbooru (administrator of Gelbooru, an alternative to the imageboard Danbooru) has put out a tweet where he theorizes Russ Vought (who is a director of the United States Office of Management and Budget & Acting Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau) where Russ states that he publicly stated his desire to have pornographic content, violent video games, and other types of content "harmful to children", banned from the internet. This would be "their attempt to kill Section 230 immunity". He provides some evidence for this where a video of Russ admitting he wants this content banned. This also would explain why the restrictions were enforced on these companies.
