After Hasbro turned fucking Battleship into a movie there is literally nothing that would surprise me. If the Michael Bay Skibidi Toilet movie actually comes out I think it will be the end of western civilisation.

It's one of the funniest parts of a failed live service imo: by the nature of the genre you have to be planning years in advance unless you're going to exit scam. It was the same with Anthem's supposed '10-year plan' lol.

Speaking of, I'm actually shocked Rock Steady are not only continuing to put out the Suicide Squad seasonal content but are doubling down on the DEI by making season 2's Joker a zoomer twink, season 3's character a gender-swapped Mr Freeze (who still has a wife, because of course she does) and then season 4's new character is basically Kim Belair from Sweet Baby Inc.

This isn't surprising, these studios have all this content ready or nearly ready by launch and cut it out to sell it to you later. This has been the industry standard for quite a while, long gone are the days of Expansion Packs which actually brought something brand new to the game.

That's even more insidious then because it suggests they were saving the really obnoxious DEI stuff to Trojan horse in after people had already bought and committed to the game. Now I'm even more glad it failed catastrophically.

fwiw even when the source was flimsy as fuck the movie was still entertaining in a dumb-fun blockbuster way because back then they still put some earnest effort in. fuck you even had a "diverse" cast with a competent while male lead and it wasn't some stupid MUH AMERICA MUH MILITARY deconstruction.
it did exactly what I expected and wasn't disappointed - compared to all the slop of the last decade.

Does anyone really care about Horizon? Everytime i see Aloy (the series's protagonist) pop up somewhere everyone refers to her as "the chick from Horizon Zero Dawn".

Never played a single God of War, but i know who Kratos is. Never played Uncharted, but i know who Nathan Drake is. I had to go out of my way to find out who Aloy is.

Were many people waiting for a lego game version of something that's ALREADY a video game, and a fairly recent one at that? Hell, as far as I can see the lego game is more expensive to buy than the regular one.

Horizons is pretty big, but lego games are generally based on giant franchises like Harry Potter and Star Wars, are they not? Aimed at primarily kids and/or nostalgia?

The clips look like a typical Sci-Fi series with nothing that stands out. The characters in the game also don't appear in these clips, so either Amazon is hiding them for the actual show, or they made the show before the game characters were hastily changed at the last minute, because they weren't DiVeRsE enough.

its so funny how out of touch Sony became when they invested millions of dollars and expected billions in return from the gaming market.
They really thought Concord was going to be "the next Star Wars of gaming".

I like the concept, but after Forbidden West shat the bed I have zero interest in playing anything else Horizon related unless a new team takes over.

However you feel about the IP though it is absolutely not popular enough to justify getting a Lego spin-off, or a VR game, or a remaster of Zero Dawn (that looks worse than the original)...

Wouldn't people still more likely vote for Dustborn as troll votes? You can search for Dustborn to nominate it even if you didn't play the game, since it wasn't delisted like how Concord was. And it's doubtful that the sub-700 players or so that actually played Concord would be enough votes for the categories it qualifies for.

Please, never joke about FKS. It is literally one of the most heart breaking things in the world when you are giving everything you possibly can, and the kitten still doesn't make it. I have experienced far less trauma from dealing with dying human patients that I have with kittens that had FKS. I literally have PTSD from having worked with kittens that had FKS.

There should be "Promoting LGBTQ+ values" award at game awards for the shitty DEI slop. Dev's would either have to accept this award and have their game publicly branded as fag shit for everyone to avoid, or reject nomination and come out as fake activists doing it for a clout.

Not even necessarily as a troll. I can't think of any other 2024 game that has been as historically significant as Concord. Not for anything good, mind you, but Steam's description of the award does stress 'whatever the reason'.
 
Concord technically was a labor of love.

Granted, it's a tainted love, kind of closer to hate of one's fellow human, but still.
