But seriously, I have 6.6k hours in Tarkov, and eventually you just can’t not notice how fucking awful the netcode is in EFT. Gunfights are pure RNG based on whose bullets decide to register as 3 hits instead of 1, or who the game will decide is actually dead 3 seconds after you’re both in cover. In terms of a PVP experience, it just ain’t it. And don’t get me started on cheaters, at least the cheaters in CS aren’t getting a slick Altyn outta me.
Ever since I installed the single player mod for Tarkov I've noticed that it feels much less stressful. Sure it's a different experience but I never have to fear getting head-eyes'd from a grenade launcher by a player with a Chinese name in Labs. I really hate how most FPSes these days are geared towards maxing out the main online experience to the detriment to everything else, especially if that experience sucks in the first place.

Valve has been really bad with this kind of thing too. There's been a few community maps I've liked over the years, only to be in for a couple of months then never seen again. Same with the limited time missions, I remember the Operation Wildfire missions being super fun but Valve never focused on content like that, and it never came back to be played even without the mission rewards. Even more recently was the terms of service change where they banned community servers that used plugins that let you fake which skins you had. Like fuck, I'm not even allowed to enjoy myself in my own private spaces. It has to be controlled by someone who wants to squeeze as much money out of me as they can

From a money standpoint, all of Valve’s actions make more sense. Why would they bother to fix CS2? They reported over a billion in profit last year on cases. All Valve cares about is that the money keeps rolling in.

And honestly, as much as people mald (for good reason, I might add), the game still works and it is still very fun. The new engine feels nice to play on, the game performs well, and while I run into at least one cheater a day, it’s not as overblown as some people make it out to be, at least in low elo. After 25k premier, it’s HvH. But if you’re 25k premier and you don’t play faceit, you’re a dumb faggot anyways.
I absolutely understand, and that's my biggest problem really. Valve has become out of touch because of their money. They don't have to put effort into anything, because they're valve, and they make millions by merely existing. There's nobody left who actually cares about making games. Same thing that happened to Game Freak.

Gaming has been sold out for years, tbh. It’s evident in every facet of the industry, and I don’t think it’ll change until we French Revolution every fucking game dev that is complicit in the microtransactional hellhole that is current AAA gaming.

Untrue. They may be fumbling at every turn but it’s still the best competitive FPS out there.
How is it compared to Valorant in terms of movement and shooting? I know they're completely different games in every aspect other than both being shooters.
I haven't played CS since the 1.6 days and I've been playing some Valorant in the past 2 months which has been very satisfying. Movement and shooting feel very fluid and somehow...natural? good? Don't know how to describe it but it feels rewarding.

I don’t think they’re completely different games at all. I refer to Valorant as CSGOverwatch (well, when I’m not calling it Tranny CS, at least) because it’s literally CS mechanics at it’s core, but with gay hero ability shit thrown on top. If you enjoy the movement and whatnot of Valorant, you’ll love CS. I play CS now with a guy that has like 50 hours in CS and thousands in Valorant, and he was actually pretty good right away.

I read they're different because of the countless hero abilities and hero classes creating chaos. Will try it as well but I'm still getting used to the mechanics so I expect to be getting shit on just like in Valorant. Was playing Overwatch for a while before that and maybe CS and Valorant aren't that different but Overwatch and Valorant are insanely different. Had no idea what's going on for the first 25 hours.
Thanks mate.

Expect to get shit on. It’ll happen, probably til the day you quit gaming. But as long as you grow as a player, those games where you get shit on are a learning experience.

Yeah, no game outside of CS is very similar to Valorant. Overwatch has a similar vibe, I think, but overall they’re extremely different.

Also, my favorite part, you can say whatever you want on CS. I like to start every game with a ‘Total tranny death’ in the text chat.

I would never play Valorant, even if you payed me to play it. That is the F2P equivalent of HIV-AIDS.

It's amazing just how badly Valve bumblefucked CS2, it's one step forward and two steps back. Source 2, better visuals, better mechanics, but at the same time they didn't port a shitton of content from CS:GO, are overly fucking with how skins look like, which disrupts the reason CS:GO was such a great cash cow, don't have any form of anti-cheat or Overwatch so cheaters are rampant, and worst of all, they've rugpulled CS:GO and replaced it with CS2 to retain the CS:GO audience.

They've also shut down official CS:GO servers, so if you still want to play CS:GO, you'll have to choose the CS:GO beta, which isn't updated so the new skins won't work, and you can only play on community servers. No matchmaking, no ranking, it completely kills off the main CS:GO audience and only leaves the dedicated fans that remember that this is how it used to be with CS 1.6 and CS:S.

But still, the most baffling part is them fucking up the skins economy, where pattern bugs and actual visual deterioration were big factors for why some skins had a higher price, like that one texture that had a vagina looking pattern on the back of the pistol, or how battle scarred/well worn guns actually looked like shit, but now they look almost factory new. Hit up that fat autist in the balaclava from Malta that abuses his alcoholic elderly father if you need someone to tell you why you're shooting yourself in the fucking foot in the most excruciating detail.

Get your shit together Valve, your community is universally hating you for CS2, and you still glide on the good will you've built upon decades of not being shit, and here's a hint: if you start being shit now, that good will will inevitably run out. Do what you always did best, listen to the community and give the community what they want.

Sadly, people (especially the diehard Valve Stans), will downplay how CS2 should have launched in a better state, because other FPS games (i.e. Call of Duty, Halo Infinite, Overwatch 2, Battlefield 2042) are doing MUCH WORSE.

Well it's also not mutually exclusive. Yes, Valve dropped the ball hard on CS2, but at the same time even the mess that is CS2 is still on a better level than the other shooters. A diehard Valve stan should yell at Valve to improve CS2 instead of accepting it's current state, because that's how you give Valve a hint that they can stop giving a shit, which is the reason everyone loves Valve.

It's my favorite, but it's broken beyond belief.
If you're up for shitposting and playing drunk, it's the best thing. If you want an actual match, go play 1.6 or 2.
It is a broken, moddable and divisive game, but to me, its my home. The bots there are also CS' best version (if you also count Condition Zero's version).

A new update has been released for CS2 and among the changes is the return of left-handed viewmodels (wow), Dust 2 replacing Overpass in Premier, and the reintroduction of the Overwatch system along with some other minor changes.

I like this change, I love Dust 2. Thankfully I’m dogshit so premier is still playable. I wonder if the overwatch system can get rid of spinbotting? I was starting to think the inmates were running the asylum.

Dust 2 replacing Overpass in Premier
Fucking sigh. Get a new map, Valve.

This is how you find a tryhard in CS, how much someone will change viewmodels in the heat of combat just to see a few tiny pixels covered by their barbie guns.
I like left-hand viewmodels since the WON days. It's purely psychological but I feel like my aim is off with right hand models.
But yeah, the v_model toggle-bind is sweaty 101, specially when the user is an < ESEA Main player. You're playing a PUG for shits and giggles, not top spot in Pro League.

Well so far Dust2's not all that bad. Actually, at least at my skill level (3-4k), seems like it's a better map than Overpass. Don't need to rely on complicated util setups t side like in Nuke (easily my least favorite map in the active duty pool) -- all you really have to learn is how to smoke off xbox, and maybe b too, and how to throw flashes so your teammates don't get immediately decimated when they peek long or b. Rarely see anyone actually go b though. Most of the time it's cat or long, or just long every single time for some reason.

I don't mind the change after all.
