Cover songs you find as good (or better) than the original work.

I much more enjoy Joan Jetts version.

As said the most obvious one is Hurt, Johnny Cash's version is superb.

Around '68-'69 it seems everyone and their dog wanted to cover this song, but Blue Cheer's version is not only better than the original, it's better than every other cover version as well. That includes Zeppelin's little medley of it that keeps bothering me in the middle of How Many More Times.

This song is so sweaty and horny that I'm convinced the only way you can make it sound good is by going full tilt on the dirt in your sound.

As long as we're on the subject of Joan Jett, her version of "Do You Wanna Touch Me" automatically wins by default since the original version was sung by a convicted child molester:

(it also helps that she wears a bikini in the music video too)

I love Áine Minogue's version of "Across the Universe". She conveys the song's otherworldliness perfectly

Angra's Wuthering Heights, maybe even better than Kate Bush's because the original version fades the solo out too quickly whereas Angra seems to let the solo play with minimising the volume.

Well Alright - Blind Faith. Does the Buddy Holly original justice imo. On a side note, I hate all covers of Simon and Garfunkel songs.
