It would depend on how the UK would parse the legality here. For instance, if they view the crime as "soliciting sex from an underage person," they have that crime, too, and they'd extradite, but if they see it as "soliciting sex from a person under 16," they wouldn't. I think he solicited nudes, which would break some kind of law, and I'm pretty sure it would in the UK too.
The US can request extradition and the UK may grant it as a good-faith gesture. Just because sex with a 16 year old is legal there doesn't necessarily mean they don't recognize the illegal nature of his act under US law. Countries like to keep their international allies happy. And besides, the UK may decide they don't want to get the reputation as a pedo-haven.
