In a surprising move, Valve’s latest CS2 update now allows stickers to be placed almost anywhere on weapons, and in any rotation. This has instantly led to some creative crafts, as well as some downright offensive ones.

Ever since stickers were added to CS:GO, they have been limited to four pre-set spots on weapons. This meant that while players could personalize their skins, they didn’t have total freedom.

On February 6, the first major content update for CS2 went live, and threw a spanner in the works with the ability to place stickers anywhere on weapons, as well as all weapons now supporting five stickers.

Of course, the inevitable happened, as players quickly found ways to make bizarre, funny, or simply offensive words or drawings with the sticker placement.
Although it was already possible to spell out three or four-letter words with some sticker combinations, this new update has made it far easier.
Because some stickers include lettering, such as ‘GG’ (good game), these stickers in particular have shot up in price on the Steam market.

The obvious reason for this rise is players using the sticker to spell out words – in some cases, very offensive words.

Others are using the new tools to make predictably juvenile shapes.

This would have been a predictable outcome too, considering the same has been done in other games like Call of Duty, whenever this level of customization is permitted.

Whether or not creating offensive sticker crafts would ever be a bannable action though, is unknown. In Call of Duty for example, players reported for creating offensive emblems would often lose the ability to make emblems.

The sticker update generally in CS2 has caused confusion, as the skin market tries to react. Some of the most expensive stickers in the game are worth tens of thousands of dollars, and this update could either make them even pricier or crash the market entirely.

Too bad Call of Duty already beat them to the chase and pushed this feature out during the 360/PS3 era of their games. Gun customization in my opinion, was one of the tiny little highlights that made me prefer the Black Ops series over Modern Warfare back then. What other game series gave you the freedom to make gun and emblem designs like these in the 2010's?

Bro they beat them to it back when they had sprays in 1.6 back in the early 2000's if it wasn't porn it was racism.

As much as I wish Valve stays away, they might cave in because muh esports (and the can of worms that has). The least they'll do is add an option to hide stickers or something similar.
esports have proven to not be the cash cow they thought they'd be, and that was before they fell victim to artificial narratives and forced diversity.

Oh I wouldn't know, I've hated CS since 1.6, and since all future iterations were advertised as more of the same, I have no reason to change my stance. Slow-moving, crouching, hitscan crap isn't what I find fun. Need at least some form of explosive jumping.
the toxic web 1.0-tier community is why it's good, the gameplay is incidental. The appeal is shit talking and late night dj sessions

Is CS2 worse than CSGO? I didn't play those games. I heard many players are upset that controls, behavior of the game has changed.
yes i hate it and i'm mad it replaced cs go. May have moved to cs2 at some point but for now i'm a bit turned off.

Worse than the fucky movement and some questionable mechanics, the graphics "upgrade" runs like shit and looks like reddit cumbait.

4790k with RX480 is unplayable. Yes machine is old as shit but guess what all of south america and other poorfag regions have access to? 2012/2013 era machine with an occasional upgrade. This same combo ran CSGO like a champ at max settings. There is no way to turn down the graphics enough to speed things up either, there's some shit in the game the CPU can't handle. my 5950x handles CS2 just fine, but the old 4790 should have been usable to also. Instead it gets 60fps that dips to 20 with tons of stutters

And all of this for UGLY oversaturated shit, gratuitous lighting and detail and it takes away from the core of the game. It's both ugly and a distraction, plus bonus shit performance. CSGO was never pretty, but it was clean and tasteful. CS2 is like tranny makeup applied by homer simpson's makeup shotgun on a redditor named troonella (xhe/xhir)

sticker stuff is funny as shit, an they should leave it as-is. reminds me of the fun early days of CSGO with the weapon naming option and creative ways to get around word filter. Like my P90 names DIAL8 TRNY

They removed creative expressions because of they knew that niggers, kikes and faggots are universally hated, and games were the meeting points for people who are complete mindless. Blizzard and Microsoft only allows premade avatar on you profile because they can't allow any originalty in online personalities. Same thing with character builds, everything is a whole skin and not a customization menu, retards will say it's because of money (and "game aesthetics"), but I belive it's to kill off creative expressions so you don't deviate from their political aesthetics.

I remember there was some talking about if you play as a woman in game, these people were more prone to become faggots and trannies (Second Life I think the game was), so this was a long time ago. I honestly think that companies like Sweet Baby Inc are applying this phenomena by forcing users to look like a faggot (even the male option in current character customization menus have feminine looks now).

Keep this in mind, next time you can't even see ingame avatars in new games.

CS players can and will complain about anything
>this update sucks they didn't change anything
>this update sucks they changed too much
Best part is when you tell them to play and STFU, they'll whine about how the "community" isn't a monolith and that constant whining and bitching is ackshually a good thing because it keeps Valve on their toes or something.
I hate reddit and it's influence so much it's unreal.

whenever this level of customization is permitted.
Ah yes, Permitted.
You should only get what your betters allow, serf.

BTW, how is people using creativity to make no-no words instantly any different to trannies using tech to silence people or coomers using tech to make porn? Coomers and Trannies being people the author champions...

esports have proven to not be the cash cow they thought they'd be, and that was before they fell victim to artificial narratives and forced diversity.
Mostly because viewers refuse to support it.
They demand:
- Million+ dollar prize pool tournaments (so that there's "stakes" and "excitement")
- Tournaments hosted in stadiums/arenas like the ones that host real sports
- Complete compliance with "modern audience sensibilities"
- 4K@60fps streaming
- That tournament organizers refuse to accept sponsorships from gambling ventures or "problematic" entities (despite these businesses being the ones that sponsor major sports and are the only ones willing to drop the kind of scratch to finance these events).
- All at no cost for the viewer

How are TOs supposed to profit? They're not. It's all supposed to be "for the love of CS".
Is it sensible? Dunno, but if it isn't, blame "capitalism" or Valve for not digging into their profits and financing everything themselves, despite Valve's hands-off approach being what allowed organic growth for CS as an esport to begin with.

These are the redditors this game has.
All Global Elites/FaceIt level 10s btw. Ignore that Gold Nova 1 badge and their D rank on ESEA.

GG Allen?
Easy way to spell niGGer/faGGot in sticker-speak.
