Culinary Atrocities - Crimes against food

The aspic abomination that is food from the 60's is qutie possibly some of the worst shit I've ever layed my eyes on. Actually, fuck it, anything from the late 50's to early 70's in american cookbooks is generally horrifying as sin.

Does anyone else think that caviar sucks and there are much better tasting fish eggs?

Depends on what you mean. I personally think a nice BIGG THICC grain salmon roe like you get in big fucking salmon you caught in the wild up in Alaska is the best tasting shit ever. Clean it out, prepare it in brine, and spread it on a piece of toast with a big of sweet cream butter, MMMMM-mmm.

shiritaki "miracle" noodles. They are diet food from Japan. They come in liquid filled packages, the liquid smells horrible and somewhat fishy even though it's vegan. The noodles are made of glucomannan, a fiber supplement the Japanese call "the broom of the stomach" because it sweeps everything out.

To prepare, you have to ventilate the room to open the package and drain the liquid. Then rinse under cold water for at least five minutes to remove fish odor. Then boil. Then saute. Then you get rubbery noodles with almost no calories. Reading the Amazon reviews can be kinda fun.

if the liquid doesn't contain some kind of preservative, that could be bacterial contamination; like many unmodified saccharides, glucomannan is excellent bug food
