Nope, because that's never happened. If Chris was able to push himself towards change to get laid, he would've gotten laid years before he resorted to paying a prostitute.

Yeah, nobody ever benefits from talking to the police. What you say to the police can be used against you, but never on your behalf to defend you. If all police think you are innocent then they cannot do shit. They cannot say anything to help you in court (it would be considered "hearsay" and would be stricken from the record and the jury would be told to ignore it) they can only make statements that will hurt you.

If you say nothing then you might be released because they don't have enough evidence to hold you. Even with a lawyer, it makes little sense to talk to the lawyer, if you want to defend yourself then the place to do that is in court.

I am not an attorney but, the cuffs can come off /charges can be dropped in rare occasions if you say the correct things, it's a huge risk to play this hand. Everything I have is anecdotal but, an associate of mine was getting jammed up on sexual assault/battery charges the nature of the crime was best described as "rough sex" "BDSM" etc. He prints out his accusers social media where she clearly talks about clearly soliciting exact kind of acts the defendant she accused had perpetrated against her. The printout goes to his attorney and is then handed off the the main investigating officer; the investigating officer instantly realizes he's a naive simp and the prosecuting party decides she's full of shit and her testimony is useless if it goes to trial. No sex crime charges are filed. 95% of the time it is best to remain silent. If you're facing minor dope charges dropping a dime on a dealer is quick way to beat some possession charges at least a heavy reduction in sentencing; good luck when the dealer you fucked gets out as he's going to want to skin you alive if he finds out you had a hand in his charges. I'm not an attorney but, I like to think I have a very good grasp on the legal system in the US.
