Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Big budget AAA titles need to sell crazy numbers to be considered a sucess, if normies flock to buy CP2077 because they are expecting this exciting rollercoaster ride but suddenly get Baldurs gate II they are going to be refunding it quickly and rating it autistic/10 even if hardcore crpg fans love it , and big developers need those normies to reach their estimates, indies can just stick to the niche and do well because of it.

Must be super hard balancing gameplay for that many differing expectations, its like its set to fail from the start. i personally seen people who didn´t even give a shit about the witcher simply because the medieval theme is too nerdy get excited about cyberpunk, Some are expecting a gta styled shooter others are expecting a pen and paper rpg, Its bound to dissapoint both to a degree,
My boomer friend at work is an example of this. I remember him talking about being hyped and returning skyrim cause it was just to hard to play.

This game so far is very medicore, very middle of the road open world collectahon. Gunplay? mediocre, meleecombat? medicore, driving? mediocre. Even the map is like a standard ubigame with icons fucking everywhere. The map doesnt diffentiate between a regular run of the mill kill this here and collect this quest and quest with acted dialogue and story. So a lot of times it feels like the game is wasting your time
The games story so far is really cliche and easily predicatble but the dialouge is pretty good. I was having a good time until Keanue showed up and halted the story.
Keanu reveas charcter is so far really stupid and superfucking annoying and how anyone likes his acting is beyond me.
One of my biggest complaints is how railroaded you are in the game, the game dosent let you do stupid things. Like a game should allow you to do stupid shit but then punish you for it.
Super slow burn that throws a lot of shit at you in the first hour or so the game is ok but like that obsidan space rpg i doubt anyone will remember it.

Male V's voice is alright, nothing special but it fits what the character is supposed to be and does its job. Don't know about female V though. Keanu sticks out like sore thumb. I can't think of a single good delivery from his character, it all sounds so off.
Male v is legit one of the worst protagonists i have heard in a video game. His performance is very grating until you get used to it about 5 hours in.

Let's pretend that the heist doesn't go wrong or V somehow manages to prove that the events of said heist were beyond his control. Let's pretend that the choice about whether to take up Evelyn's offer to cut Dex out of the deal or warn Dex about her actually matters.

Personally? I think that telling Dex is the more sensible choice and screwing him over would've been bad for V. Yes, backstabbing each other is not uncommon (this is Night City we're talking about here), but as their first big job, they might as well be waving a huge sign in neon letters to the other fixers that says 'I will double-cross you the first chance I get'. The consequences in the long-term far outweigh the benefits in the short-term, ESPECIALLY considering what V and Jackie were tasked with stealing.

Turn down cascaded shadows, volumetric fog/clouds, set screen space reflections to like medium. And turn on DLSS.
That helped massively. Thank you.

EDIT: Oh, ok, now I'm dealing with an even more retarded problem. I have an ultrawide monitor and I'm trying to reduce the resolution. The easiest way to do that without going non-native is just switch the aspect ratio. WELL GUESS WHAT, CYBERPUNK CAN'T DO THAT APPARENTLY. You can switch to windowed mode, but that's causing horrible, Stadia-level input latency.

On the bright side, I can play as Wide Putin now.

This game and other games do that, it has nothing to do with misogyny. There's set story zones and if you try to drive your car into it, it stops you because there's scripted dialogue sequences. The exact same thing happens with Panam later, it makes you get out of your car at the parking lot, like 20 feet away, to trigger the dialogue sequences. I recall GTA V doing it too.
And it is dumb no matter what game does it.

LET ME SEVER THE THREAD OF PROPHECY. Vivec Bouncer Lady totally fucking deserves it.

I know I'm not saying anything that others haven't already, but after an hour of trying to get this even playable on my quite-high-end PC, with the game defaulting to settings that it can't feasibly run at all...

the first thing that I see upon turning around in the opening bar is 2 dudes sitting on the same stool at the same time. One's head coming out of the other's chest and looking like a 4-armed monstrosity.

This needs a very, very serious QA pass.

For what it's worth, I like the game and I'm enjoying it. I'm just taking it for what it is, and did not have any real expectations whatsoever going in.

I think it's worth the price for what you get. Not the best thing to ever happen to gaming, mind you. But not bad, either. The whining and chimp-outs on this thread are fucking retarded.

Clock me if I'm late but I just saw this and had to post it. There's no amount of gigs of updates and patches that can fix this kind of coding ethic. This isn't a bug. It's on purpose. They really thought this was ok
The first one looks like actual real world traffic, weirdly enough.

Free, right?
Buddy, if glitches like that prevented a game from being decent I would have nuked New Vegas from my PC and never looked back when it first came out.

Is she necessary for the story or something?
Yes, she's integral for information given on a quest later in the game.

That said, she's not named and I don't even think she has a unique model. Why she can be killed and respawned on leaving the area I don't know.

As I go on the game is climbing power rankings. The core story is like a good cyberpunk novel - I'm thinking in particular of the second Sprawl Trilogy novel, Count Zero. It has flaws - the shooting can sometimes be underwhelming and the driving is flat-out poor. But the good outweighs the bad. I haven't had any technical problems in PC and haven't seen my frames drop beneath 75 on nearly max settings (sans RTX) - although I have a slightly aged but still good PC with a 9700k, 2080 Ti (lol at this thing in hindsight but anyway) and an M.2 SSD, so you'd really hope I'd get reasonable performance... Some weird stuff with the frame rate where I get my lowest frame rates looking at something that isn't at all graphics intensive like a room with only two NPCs in it (the lows aren't noticeably low, though), whereas when I'm walking around the open city with lots going on it'll be a bit higher. Which I guess indicates there is a degree of decent optimisation lurking somewhere in there but it's been patchily implemented at best.

If I had to fix one thing it'd be the shooting - it doesn't feel as viscerally pleasing as something like Doom or Titanfall 2 (the latter I would say has the best-feeling guns of any game I've ever played, so that's a high standard). It's not total trash but it's the weakest thing that affects gameplay frequently.

Edit: Also, while I don't like some of V's dialogue or the voice actor's accent, the VA does a decent job with some memorable parts here and there, so that criticism I had before is tempered somewhat.
