Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Ohh. I didn't realize that. Because Shadowrun is balanced around essence where everything has a cost and you just straight up fucking die if you go below 0 essence. Though in 5th edition there was the cool concept of 'cyberzombies' basically corps putting in SO MUCH cyberware people just lost their shit. Though that was basically unleashed as anti-mage weapons (Negative essence characters are REALLY hard to hurt with spells). There were also options for fully cybernetic characters except for a brain ala GitS. I still like Shadowrun over cyberpunk 2077.

Fuck, I gotta play in a Shadowrun campagin or something.

It tries to balance around that, and if you go passed zero you do become a cyberchyco. Problem is that since the points you can spend on cyberwear are purchased by a stat (EMP), you can dump things that arn't the stat and then just replace them by cyberwear. Unlike Shadowrun there isn't much non-Roleplay reasons to not cyber up until you're a barely functional machine, since the stat it lowers is only really useful to face characters.

You can respec your perks at least, but it is a retarded amount of money, like 100k. But you're right. Bullet time and berserk are pointless, but you CAN mod in bullet time. I have 2 bullet time mods, one when I aim and one when I get caught. Quick hack is hilarious. Short - Circuit + Synapse Burnout + Legendary Cyberdeck to Spread to Multiple people + Spread Increase perks = 3-4 gangers disabled and/or dead, bum rush them with a fully automatic and silenced weapon to finish them.

I mean, you can play however you want, really, but quickhacks make combat a joke.

Everything makes combat a joke lol. Using stealth makes combat a joke. Charging in makes combat a joke. Using a decent weapon makes combat a joke. Using cyberdecks makes combat a joke. I'm not sure what you can really do to make combat not a joke. The AI isn't advanced enough to hurt you. Everyone thinks that hiding behind cover is brilliant even though your gun can still hit them and you just casually took out three of their companions who tried hiding behind cover, then they trip over the body trying to reposition in a position that just makes them easier to hit.

The only difficult fights are when you go against someone much higher level than you, and that is only because your weapons just tickle them while theirs kills you in one hit. And you can still win those fights because the AI is terrible.

I'd laugh if this was the reason.
you think its not but there was a whole big controversy about the game portraying women with cyberware as having somewhat marred their human forms and generally not being 100 percent on board with tranny cyberification, keep in mind the scene wasnt 100 percent saying it was dirty it was just the other side of all the benefits this technology would give us and a big theme of cybrpunk exploring the ways it could go too far or carry huge negatives. they dont want you to explore whether its a bad idea to replace parts of your bodies with machines they just want you to mindlessly consume body mods.

The DPS counter is occasionally broken. Try clicking on a craftable weapon a few times and watch the DPS change right before your very eyes.
Yeah I think I've found out the "issue", I had a silencer on :story:

Also I managed to loot this:

I didn't know that islam would still be a thing in the future. It reminds me of that weird line from DE:Mankind Divided where Jensen says that body augmentations aren't against the Quran.

So... this is what people sent in death threats for?

I don't believe those threats were legitimate. I read some of the ones female CD Projekt Red employees allegedly got and it was shit like "release Cyberpunk or I will rape you and shove a bomb up your vagina! Tis I king of the incels!"

Blatantly fake shit that soy journalists or someone else who has no idea what real people talk like made up.

You mentioned Shadow run a few times today. From what I know there are a few of them on Steam. Shadow run Returns, Dragonfall etc. Any of them you recommend?

Still want a Xmas cyberpunk fix, might as well do it with a series that isn't complete shit.
Shadowrun Hongkong, and dragonfall are both good games for what they are.
Recommending them both.

Shadowrun Returns is the very, very first one and it is probably the weakest out of all of them as its basically scrambling around to try and fit it in after ages. I think most people would say the best one is Shadowrun: Dragonfall. But you can't go wrong with both Dargonfall and Hong Kong, which will basically be about 60+ hours. I also love the SNES game a lot, it reminds me a lot of a point and click adventure game with combat. Its got this great dour, almost scary atmosphere and wonderful music. Though it is NOT lore friendly at all. Shadowrun for genesis is the more lore friendly alternative. But both HongKong and Dragonfall games are lore friendly. They're deeper than Cyberpunk, that's for sure.

That kind of sucks. Yeah, without magic or something giving you a reason to not chrome up, everyone and their mother would chrome the fuck up massively.

And that is true. Combat is overall a joke. Their most advanced play is to take cover, or if they are a melee enemy to blatantly just charge you.

I mean, it is crazy to think about how that would have stopped them, but it is 2020, so I can believe it.

I don't think I'm gonna play the game any further until it has less bugs in it. Also the thing with save files being capped at 8mb and corrupting if you go higher than that just makes me not want to play the game even more. I played about 4/5 hours of it and overall it seems decent from what I've played, Really buggy at times but the story is ok. The fact I'm playing on console probably won't help things much either.

CDPR worked for 8 years on the destruction of their reputation. Well done guys!
It really is a joke. They took it for granted like every corporation does.

"HAHA, THEY'LL EAT WHATEVER SHIT WE GIVE THEM. THE JOURNOS ATTACK US AND THEY DEFEND US FOR FREE. WE CAN DO ANYTHING, WE ARE GENIUSES"

*spends eight years making generic trash, thinking they can fool people and suck the cock of the suits, even hiding shit from investors. Then, everyone turns on them and their reputation is rubble*

"OH NO HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN"

Fucking retards.

So wait until it's like 20 bucks? I'm feeling like I should wait until it's 20 bucks.
Its already like 20% off on Amazon, so you might not have to wait long. But yeah, in a year either CD Projekt will do one of two things: 1) Still be working on this, doing everything they can to salvage their reputation, making it above and beyond what they promised, ala No Man's Sky (I'm not predicting this) or 2) Fixed most of the major jank and bugs while hurriedly stuffing it under the bed, praying to Polish Jesus that everyone forgets about this while modders make basic mods and QoL improvements, but is largely mechanically the same, just optimized and not buggy trash (I predict this. CD Projekt is a gaming company after all. So they're retarded enough to think this massive fall from grace and EIGHT YEARS will just somehow magically fade away)

its weird witnessing a project/community ruined by danger hair diversity hires before it even actually crystalizes as a thing, this is like zoe quinn burning the first comic book in progress, very impressive kill rate they have going

And they'll never learn.
