Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Looks like there was a gameplay leak:

It seems like someone took a video cam to e3 and snuck a video of a journalist only event.

I really hope CDPR decides to show some more current versions of the game before release, beyond just the quickly edited bits in Pacifica. Their drip-feed of information is understandable but also frustrating as hell. Perhaps it's always been like this with games but I've not been this hyped for a game to follow it so closely in a long time to notice.

I understand cautious optimism but that deep dive was like feeding a starving man with a crumb. I get the feeling that CDPR is kinda insecure (maybe not the right word) about their game. Like they're so worried about perception and controversy that they don't want to give us much insight before release. The merch is cool and all but I'm kinda sick of checking forums and only getting fanart, OCs, and pics of the merch people just received.

Plus I find Pacifica neat but kinda bland in concept; it's a crime zone, got it, I wanna see the big crowds, bustling city life and skyscrapers. They keep boasting about this realistic futuristic city and shit but we've got barely anything to show for it. It all looks great, for sure, but the city off in the distance is what really caught my eye. The giant screens shooting into the sky and flying vehicles were intriguing and I wanna see more. It would be great to see the areas from the first gameplay reveal in a more current build of the game or something.

Still super hyped but hoping they drop something interesting before the new year.

My man, they are showing more of the game than your average publisher does. The average publisher shows you nothing. Saying that this means CDPR is insecure is bizarre.

Hope it turns out more RPGish and not just a shitty gta clone like watch dogs

From the shown gameplay footage it looks like a Fallout 4 style shooter with RPG light elements. Its CDPR though so I'm sure the writing and dialogue will be solid.

Idk, I think the cybernetics makes it easy to have RPG heavy aspects in the game, so I'd be surprised if they ventured far from that.

Itd be nice if they did it where you dont have xp but level up by going to a clinic and dumping all your money on getting better augmentations or upgrading your current ones and just have stats effect how many of each type you can equip without side effects. Im just hoping its not the usual get bigger numbers and steamroll the universe type of RPG

I think you mean "an amazing improvement over GTA like Watch Dogs."
I mean the concept of it and the invasion system were kinda neat but it could have been so much better than it turned out. Hacking felt way to much like a gimmick for how important of a mechanic it was.

I think it would have fit a lot better if they had a simulated internet like gta4/5 and have you do most of your hacking from there and actually have to experiment to figure out what all you can do instead of just hold square when prompted to use hacker magic.

On the one hand, groan.

But on the other hand, at least it's not going to be rushed. And I'll have time to stump up the cash for an upgrade or suchlike.
