Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

CD Projekt Red are the kind of developers who'll delay a game 5 months because they're not happy about how the areola look on the boobs of that girl you have to carry naked out of an organ farm in the demo level. They'll spend those months studying various real breasts in detail and probably writing an entire physics engine to ensure that Cyberpunk 2077 has the gold standard video game breasts that we the players deserve.
I'll never forget that Witcher development video where they showed off stuff then randomly cut to a voice actress doing the moaning sounds for the prostitutes.

DING DING DING WE HAVE A WINNAR!

There's 0 point in releasing your highly touted video game at the tail end of the LAST generation. You want your hotness to shine like michael jordan's dome while he drinks gatorade (I can tell you from experience, that sucker glows!) on the latest and greatest hardware. All this is doing is giving us a time frame of WHEN the next gen consoles will be released: i.e. September 2020.

Both Sony and MS have publicly stated that they will release the next console in 'holiday season 2020'. September is the 9th month which falls into the tail end/beginning of 3rd/4th fiscal quarter. As a company tying your console to show a noticable Quarter over Quarter growth is key to getting that fat bonus check when they come around as you can point to an uptick in sales numbers as Q3 went up, Q4 is DEFINATELY up and the market will peak during Nov/Dec when Black Friday/Cyber Monday comes around.

Watch, you'll see more publishers holding off till Q3/Q4 to release games, chances are the publishers are also getting some fat kickback from MS/Sony to help sell their consoles when release with the new games as CP2077 is a game in demand. The marvel SJW Shitshows? Not so much.

I think @Vault Boy is onto something about Cyberpunk 2077 being released in a similar manner as GTA V, which was released at the tail end of the Seventh Generation of Consoles, just a few months before the PS4 and Xbox One came out and then releasing an improved "next gen" update for the new consoles.

There's also the fact that the PS5 will have backwards compatibility with the PS4, so it's not as huge of a deal to have a last gen release so late in the game. The PS2's backwards compatibility with the PS1 did extend the lifespan of PS1 titles by a couple of years. I could see the same thing happening with the PS4.

There's also the matter that the next consoles will be more powerful than the Xbox One X and the PS4 Pro, so the game will likely have better performance on them by comparison (or at least on par with them out of the gate). So even if CDPR doesn't release a next gen version of Cyberpunk, the game's not going to be left in the dust.

Same goes for any game coming out this year, backwards compatibility is a beautiful thing.

I'm fine with that. Gives me more time to ogle, I mean, play the Resident Evil R3make in April.

Yes, there is a silver lining and it frees up more room for R3make as well as other games, same anytime a big title gets delayed, we all have a backlog a mile long these days anyway, right?

But still, it would have been cool to sink my teeth into the game over the summer, oh well.

Will be intresting too see what they will do with this delay and if they will work on some issues people have expressed, one of them is the only first person decision, can pretty much already guess a third person mod or fix will be found within one or two weeks from the release, on the pc of course.

Slightly bummed about the delay. Can't see myself buying any other game this year except Total War DLC/3 if it comes out. Maybe Ghost of Tsushima. Otherwise fairly uninterested in upcoming game line up. Hopefully delay is used to polish it up.

Good. I was dreading having to decide which GPU to upgrade to for this game when I know nvidia and amd will be announcing new shit in a few months. By september new shit should be out.

Doom Eternal? RE3make? Come on.

I don't get the big deal about these delays. People bitch and moan endlessly about massive day 1 patches, rushed releases and shitty, buggy engines; isn't it better for the consumer in the end if the studio sucks more at timelines than at content?
People are never happy these days, that's mostly why a lot of modern games suck ass, the developers are trying to please a fickle, angry group of fans who WILL take to Reddit and twitter en masse if there's anything wrong with the game. They have to announce projects ridiculously early in the development cycle, set a date to keep slavering goons happy online and then crunch like motherfuckers to get it out on that release date, broken or not because if they don't the 'adoring fans' will be shrieking and bawling on Twitter about how the devs are lazy motherfuckers and they have some sort of duty to release the game. CD Projekt Red are at least ballazy enough to say "It'll be done when it's done, get over it!" and they're getting hella backlash for it.

Nah, it's because publishers are by and large greedy faggots who don't play games, don't understand the community and have contempt for their consumers because they dare to have some fucking standards.

I'm kinda glad they delayed this game. I was worried they'd rush it out.

meh...the delay gives me more time to save up for a new graphics card so no biggie. I just wished they'd release the damn specs already
I'm sure the recommended spec level will be straight up out of the price range for most people for years to come, more so than it usually is for that tier of hardware. Like, "See that shiny new Titan card? Yeah, start saving bitch."

Well, the 2018 demo was reportedly on a GTX 1080 Ti. All the same, I'm probably going to be wanting the Ryzen 4000 and Nvidia Ampére when they come out this year.

I think you're both (mostly) right, really. A lot of it is the large greedy faggots chasing Twitter because they're so out of touch with their respective gaming community(ies?)..which then just encourages fickle, angry (I'd argue non-) fans to make themselves known.

In a nutshell - faggots thinking catering to other faggots is lucrative. And all you get to do is go along for the ride like a battered housewife.

I'm still mildly hopeful for Cyberpunk to buck that trend. Mildly. Here's hoping the delay proves worthwhile.

I thought we got a cool update but you bumped this thread for nothing. Fuck you.
