@Vault Boy is onto something about Cyberpunk 2077 being released in a similar manner as GTA V, which was released at the tail end of the Seventh Generation of Consoles, just a few months before the PS4 and Xbox One came out and then releasing an improved "next gen" update for the new consoles.
There's also the fact that the PS5 will have backwards compatibility with the PS4, so it's not as huge of a deal to have a last gen release so late in the game. The PS2's backwards compatibility with the PS1 did extend the lifespan of PS1 titles by a couple of years. I could see the same thing happening with the PS4.
