Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Does anyone have any takes or thoughts on Cyberpunk RED? I can't for the life of me get people to play Shadowrun but i've heard RED goes the way of 5E and simplifies and streamlines everything, AKA i could probably convince a bunch of DnD retards to play it so would it work as a low-bar intro to cyberpunk tabletops?

I watched the edgerunners anime a few weeks ago and that shit was quite the gut-punch. Fun though.

Is that song eurobeat though? I thought Gunther's stuff is europop parodies like that ding ding dong song.
that's more eurodance. similar to the dr bombay and aqua stuff (speaking of, this also exists)

I mean yeah. Eurobeat is amazing.
and turbo is doing god's work (gotta listen to the whole song or just after 2:30 for the impatient);

but seriously, his irys covers alone are pretty legit, and dude knows how to have fun:

I don't know, I put most euromusic under the same pop label. It is that or folk, though skinhead metal was very popular in the 90s.

Yeah, Cyberpunk has the chip as a macguffin, but it doesn't really bother asking questions about the implications of humanity, uploading/downloading people, etc. The punkishness is all skin-deep. An argument could be made that they were leaning into the superficiality of the dark future, making a clever meta statement on how style matters more than substance, but I honestly doubt they were that smart.

Well, it does, late in the game. It doesn't do it particularly well, or deeply, but it does it. You basically get two NPCs arguing about the subject, briefly. One presents the opinion, "uploading a person is just data, the soul is lost". The other, more or less, says "that's a bunch of mystical hogwash, cogito ergo sum, bitch." And then you get to sort of half-heartedly, not quite agree with one side or the other, and then it's basically over.

I actually really enjoyed Cyberpunk 2077, but yeah, the actual cyberpunk elements were largely gameplay and stylistic stuff.

Probably nobody cares but Cyberpunk is on discount (30$) on the Microsoft store for the Black Friday sales
>microsoft store
nah dude, nah

or if you don't care about official stores:

ironically the eurobeat most people know these days doesn't really have much to do with europe anymore. the "real" eurobeat, if you can call it that, sounds quite different (for some reason the russians like it A LOT, don't ask me why).

For me, it was 90s-2000s gangsta rap.
what, you don't like mumblerap or low effort screeching about bitches, cars and money?

The terrible music isn't exactly part of the appeal but it sure does fill out the dystopia. Smasher might have been a pushover but finding a radio station that doesn't suck your soul out of your ass remains a challenge for the entire game.

Give up, social activities are a huge mistake.
