Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

sure, but nobodys taking about you buying anything
answer my question please
Of course I was going to pirate it. If I liked it I would've bought it like I did with Final Fantasy XV and Northgard.

But if they're splitting single player and multiplayer and making the multiplayer have an upfront cost with MTX on top then I'm not interested in the multiplayer.

backpedaling, but whatever

The reality is that unless you can make your multiplayer on LAN there will be operating costs to be accouted for, and therefore a monetization model has to be put in place
So far devs have tried many things: paid subscription, buying the multiplayer game for a standard price, lootboxes, ingame purchases, so on
Out of all of them cosmetic microtransactions stand out as slightly less shit than the rest, so if you want to play multiplayer you gotta accept at least that. especially when you can just ignore it.
idk think of them as a retard tax and youre set.

I don't know, I feel people want a reason to be outraged over a new video game release. It feels like a bit of a non-issue as long as they keep their promise about single-player not getting MTX.

When multiplayer comes out in 2021 - 2022, then we can see if they keep their word on the MTX not being aggressive.

Probably this. We still get foaming about no third person perspective even though it's been definitively first person since 2018.

Imagine actually giving a fuck about some stupid optional multiplayer component in this game, imagine being that fucking dumb. You don't play games like this for some tacked on multiplayer mode(s), you play them for the quality singleplayer experience.

Not exactly Jessica Chobot in ME3 tier but I can't say I like it any better...

Something about these contemporary "influencer" faggots being in the game just doesn't sit right with me.

Yeah, what was the marketing team thinking there?

"Well we've got the most hyped game of the last few years here, riding off a massively successful game. How should we help get even more attention?"
"How about we get some well known, well liked actor with experience in the genre to play a major roll?"
"Good start! Got anything else?"
"How about we get some less-well known but still popular music artists to make some original songs for the in-game radio?"
"They'll love that! Cyberpunk always had music be an important part of the setting. That 4AM song is pretty catchy too. That will make the world feel more alive and get us some media attention. Two birds with one stone!"
"Thank you sir but I've saved the best for last...I've gotten the Alanah Pearce and Jesse Cox to play a character in our game!"
"HELL YEAH WE'RE IN THE MONEY NOW! This will reach the invaluable demographic of people who know who those people are but have never heard of Cyberpunk 2077 before and would not play if they didn't hear from their favorite youtubers!"
"I knew you'd be impressed. Their videos occasionally break 100k viewers! No way we can fail with that kind of star power!"

Pretty girl is being generous in her case.

Eh. I googled her to figure out who she was for the above autism and she just took a really ugly profile pick for some reason. She's cute.

I can deal with it. Cox, Dodger, and Perturbed Pedro each had a spot in Witcher 3 as those three farting rock trolls in a side quest. Total screen time of maybe five minutes, and it was one and done. Hopefully this is a similar situation.

Considering that she said she couldn't even pick where in the game she would be, didn't write anything, looks completely in universe and so on, yeah.
W3 had those ecelebs in the game and you would literally never have guessed that this is the case without outside knowledge.

Imo this whole thing is just another "why is Keanu Reeves in the game?", each and every character in the game has an actor behind him/her, the fact that you recognize one or two doesn't change anything.

I think its more of a gesture that is going to be recognized not just by the audience of this one youtuber but also by people who think its just a cool thing to do.
Also, by other youtubers who are now going to think that if they suck CDPR off enough thy could be next for the same treatment, and they'll start promoting the game 4free because they want the ego boost.
