Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Everything you're talking about is a scripted scene though
only by the loosest of definitions
besides how would that work; you walk up to the couch with invisible legs and then they suddenly pop into existence as you sit your ass down?
you know you can look around in conversations right? including looking down?

I'm not sure why you're confused as if games have never done that before, or if legs suddenly popping into existence couldn't be programmed in.

I'm confused because i don't see how would they make it work in cyberpunk specifically. You have full control over your character in normal conversation, you end conversations by just walking away right? so then imagine walking up to a couch while looking at the floor (no legs) and sitting down with your legs popping up suddenly.

Games that despawn your body outside conversations always take control of the camera away from you in scripted scenes to make that transition work, from what we saw here that's not the case this time.
Besides rendering your body is not that hard anymore, its not 2010.

On mobile at work so can't link proof but there was a Q and A somewhere and they were asked about seeing your feet and I'm pretty certain they said you can see your lower body in game if you look down.

I mean, they are structuring this game's cut-scenes to work seamlessly in-engine so that you never leave the first person perspective, and they will have V in first person the whole game. The only way that could feasibly work without breaking immersion was if V's body was physically part of the world.

So, just stick to replaying Mankind Divided until I memorize it front and back. Got it. 🤙

This game has not released yet and it's already feels old to me.
It was announced in 2012 and their first trailer was in 2013.
The release hype has been going on since before their first release date in April was pushed back to September.
I'm currently expecting their current release date of November, to be pushed back until at least the middle of December in order to score that Christmas cash.

If they have a working release build.

You really want to take shots at me when every single update in this "game" amounts to "Hey remember that thing we promised? lmao not happening".

Sit the fuck down, shill.
ill take shots at you liking MD, that game was trash and so was HR to a lesser extent.
Man what a goddamn disappointment, at least it looked cool.
- laughable gunplay
- boring "optional" stealth
- half a story, and even that was pretty bad
- one note worldbuilding
- upgrades good on paper, but almost useless in actual gameplay
- level design that always has ways for people who don't have specific augs, i think only some minor safes were actually gated from people without hacking
- a hub that lets you raid half the houses with minimal effort, making you overleveled and overequipped (ok maybe thats on me)
so on
Its not good my man, the stealth especially.
That said artistically very nice, i still have its concept art stashed somewhere i think.

oh and btw, if you listen to shitposters you deserve bullying lol

So, just stick to replaying Mankind Divided until I memorize it front and back. Got it. 🤙
If you take that stuff at face value, without spending even a second to think critically about any of it then yeah, go replay your mediocre game that was nothing more but a cash grab with how it was made. (And I say this as someone who enjoyed MD for what it was, but can understand the game was shit, overall.)

The replies are about what you'd expect: The people who weren't going to buy, play, or enjoy the game in the first place are upset because capitalism bad, while the people who have an actual interest in the game are defending it with assorted arguments of varying quality.

Reminder to pirate every game you play before you commit to spending money on it.

While I don't condone crunch culture, a company is well within its rights to do so if the demand requires it. The game has been delayed at least 4 times(?) and I think at this point they feel the need to get this done because now stockholders and investors are starting to get a little restless and one more delay might cause a confidence gouge.

Im doing projects in my line of work too and i can assure you this is how it always turns out. Every industry that has set deadlines for projects goes through a exhausting rush to finish.
This phenomenon is rooted in psychology and the simple fact that an artistic work could always be improved, the work ends only when you decide to end it.
I really really want to like this game
you don't

I really really want to like this game but they've had eight fucking years of development time. Two delays and they have to crunch to avoid a third? Sounds like management has shat the bed.

I think they just bit off more than they could chew, especially with developing Witcher 3 during this games dev cycle as well.

not to be mean but it really is shitty planing on the tech industry as a whole. CA has the best anti-labor laws which is why hollywood was able to get away with expecting people to work 70 hour work weeks their entire career the last 70 years. there's not a single reason they couldn't force a 70 hour standard in gaming with a pseudo-union. instead of crunch it would just be the norm. Chris evans said on one podcast last year he's spent about 50,000 hours on set and thats only with about 18 years of working as a lead. people getting paid way less probably have a similar about of time working on productions.

I can't believe the news middle class game creators are forced to work six days a week for moderate overtime! This is a true failure of capitalism and worker exploitation and why I won't be supporting Cyberpunk2077 and why we need communism so that games are made for free on the worker's schedule.
