I can’t fucking wait for Cyberpunk. kind of surprised that requirements were way lower than I thought they’d be.
Blame the publisher a fair bit for excessive crunch culture. Part of the problem is that almost none of the top levels making decisions have played video games. They hire sterile, souless drones from like Proctor and Gamble who think of working on games like selling toothpaste and decide to force things into the game that make absolutely no sense or cut time/features to kick it out the door. Publishers just get sued, pay it off, and do brutal crunch again, ad infinitum. Cheaper to work people like animals, burn them out to hit milestones, and hire a new batch to replace anyone who ragequits/pay off settlements. Fallout 76 shouldn’t have gone out and if it had to, in the way that it did. Shit, even it had a Day 1 patch that was as large as the base game. Really wish they’d not have tried to make it a MMO. Fallout fans are misanthropic, bitter loners anyway, stupid to make it into a social type game.
It’s nice that it’ll be an open world game and not, say, a mmo like 76. I hope Cyberpunk is good enough to start a bunch more cyberpunk/Shadowrun setting games.
