Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Melee is hilariously overpowered with the right build. Go blade, crafting and cold-blood and you have so much armor you never take more than scratch damage and you heal back to full damn near every time you hit someone with the sword, which will almost always oneshot them.

Looking through the patch notes it is amazing to see so many things that should have been in the game at launch (weapon damage mods being a flat increase rather than percentile, for fucks sake) and it is gratifying to repeatedly see "yeah this isn't for old consoles because they can not fucking run the game", meaning they are atleast making steps that might one-day bring the game up to "competent" rather than trying to carry-on with the last-gen ancor around their neck.

Well, I booted my latest character and found her naked in the middle of the street (figuratively and literally): All perks reset, all gear stripped (apparently to wear legendary gear that you have crafted you need to have the crafting perk active, so you can't just add the 4 perks, craft your gear and respec), dazed, confused with a hundred mission complete notifications popping up so I mercykilled her and restarted her again.

Finally, I have a bleach blonde barbie with blue eyes, I have no idea if they changed any of the character creation screens but I finally have a slav looking V (instead of mediterranean, which was the closest I could get without making her too mystery meat-y, but enough wignat ranting).

I started the glass cannon character again: full int, full cool and full reflex. Body will be my dump stat and tech will stay at 0. Maybe I'll swap and get enough enough tech to craft epic level items. I will see how well armor performs on this run. If my 8K was as good as my 600 then I don't give a shit. I'd rather have cyberware.

I hate that they changed the name from "stealth" to "ninjutsu". Since we are going that route and we won't be getting a claymore any time soon, why not change the "blade" tree to "samurai"? It's stupid and doesn't add anything to the table. Cool has been nerfed (the armor bonus is halved, the subsequent cold blood ticks are now weaker than the previous one but resistances are higher). They are putting emphasis on dodge and resistances this time around, so let's see if mitigation really is the way to go or they have shat the bed.

Biggest flaw so far: crit chance is GONE. My lvl 44 V could only add bully and fortuna to glasses and helmets. The rest of the clothes could only get armor or resistances mods. Fortuna went from 15% to 6% crit chance. Deadeye didn't even have a crit chance. Bully got crit damage nerfed heavily.

I'm level 2 at the moment so I won't start screaming that we are in NO FUN ALLOWED territory yet but Cyberpunk had 2 modes: pre bullet sponge and post bullet sponge. You will waddle around your first 15 levels while enemies are walls of hp until you start ramping up your dps. I hope that we get a real challenge instead of a bullshit numbers game where you feel like an underpowered bitch during all 50 levels. Basically, I don't want my netrunner to become a samurai that can hack or a solo that can hack, I want to cast so hard and so fast that I'm clearing rooms with my mind. If I need to play defensively until level 15, so be it. If I need to play defensively until level 45 I'm downloading a rebalancing mod.

The new patch features make another playthrough somewhat tempting, but I've already played this game for over 400+ hours and I'm still rather burnt out on it.

Anyone play it and can confirm if it's worth continuing my playthrough?
Ehhhh. I gave it a whirl for an hour or two yesterday just to give the Xbox I spent half a grand on some use.

I noticed water splashes now. My shadow had hair now. Crowds reacted better and cars didn't just sit there when you shot at them. Nothing ground breaking has changed, but it feels like they added a bunch of quality of life improvements. The game feels like something actually acceptable for a game made during the last decade. It's supposed to be dirt cheap right now on places like g2a. You can probably get it very cheap. The game isn't great but it feels like it is finally in a playable state for the most part. I'm going to try my hand at making Saito from GiTS. GITS_SAC_2NDGIG_Saito.jpg

Continuing is a crapshoot. Had a save file with a 400+ DPS Skippy but after the patch it went to 80 DPS, so you may have things wrong with your save file post patch. So maybe you will get lucky....

Didn't they deallocate everyone's skill points?
They did but even after reallocating the points still made my Skippy into garbage. Think its just a patch issue with them messing with the weapons, restarting to see if it was just a fluke.

Edit: Also have not seen a Skippy with that low of a base DPS usually its in the 250+ base.

Ho, lee fuck, the graphics on the PS5 version look fucking WORSE than the PS4 version.

Like, the PS4 version hardly has stellar graphics to begin with, but earlier last year, I decided to download the PS4 version to see if it was indeed better, and while it was hardly great, the PS4 version looked a lot sleeker, had nice light, better reflections, the way surfaces of cars look was nice.

I wanna know what happened between April of last year and February of this that made the next gen version look worse. My TV is 60 inches and 4K, and even games like Arkham Knight, Detroit: Become Human and Until Dawn, games from 7 years ago, look fantastic played on my PS5. I was kinda sus when the PS5 upgrade was surprise dropped, but after an hour of it, I can see why.

The whole experience feels different now. I would say reboot and start over. I'm level 4 now and the map seems more lifeless than before. I know that it is done to encourage me to go out and explore the city but I want to know where the adventure IS to go there. Gigs are now hard or nothing (so no, very easy, easy, medium, hard or impossile) BUT the good news is that I can only see 2-3 gigs at a time which makes a lot more sense since you could sequence break the gigs before.

Since I accidentally created a Ciri lookalike, I'm doing a melee build with with quickhacks (cheesiest of the cheese). I got into an NCPD hustle with 3 animals: all of them with melee weapons. Parrying is a lot less sensitive than before; hammer animal hit me while parrying and it only took a 5% of my life. Once he landed a hit he took 50% which I found reasonable. Got into another NCPD hustle with 4 scavs: I could ninja take down 2 scavs before one of them decided to randomely turn and find me; I rushed one with a sword for an instakill and parried instakilled the second one (with 1 blade skill). I tried shooting at 3 tyger claws with automatic weapons and they riddled me with bullets (level 1 guns skill but on-par smg and pistols.
I fought another 3 Tygers in the NCPD gig in front of Lizzies. Only the swordsman gave me trouble, somehow I decapitated one of the three with one swing.

I found that you can't slap higher tier mods on lower tier armor. I had a kurt kobain flannel shirt and random mod to increase street cred exp was incompatible with it. I still see a lot of armor perks but not enough evasion perks. I will be shooting myself in the foot if I go with mediocre armor and mediocre evasion into the late game.

I'm very interested how the gigs will progress. After dex drops you off you could go and do the Woman of La Mancha gig (which was free xp, basically). Now it's locked but the gig where you have to steal the cyber eye for Regina's friend is open. Interestingly, there are some gigs where Johny would have had a conversation with you (like the one where the vet stole a bunch of medicine and then kills himself when he finds out it doesn't work) that are not active but were active before patch 1.51. That's very kind of the devs, to not have people miss out on content just because they are autistic completionists.

Also, all cyberpsycho quests are open and have a different icon for them, that's another quality of life improvement.

And finally you can skip the braindance tutorial, unless you like hearing Judy say "choomba". I like Judy's socal, latin accent so I don't skip her dialogues.

But can I finally fuck Judy with my enormous girthy feminine penis?
You still need a mod for that, sorry

Or follow the instructions on the video below:

Now that I think about it, I'm pissed that there are no wooden swords in the game. I hate having to toggle on and off the non-lethal addon for my Kiroshi optics. How hard would it be to add a wooden katana with the properties of a baseball bat?

Feels like they have fixed / tweaked their HDR implementation. Looks much better in darker areas now. Looks like they also fixed some menu issues when playing in ultrawide.

I noticed that after fights in alleys and such the area seems to be clear of people and just moving away from the fight people seem to reappear. At first it was unsettling until I noticed it happened after fights then made sense VS the just duck down and wait it out pre patch crowd.

That's good! I haven't yet encountered a crowd of people ducking and I had constant fights with Maelstrom and TC's.

I still see some people ducking but its not as bad as before seems to be a mix. What is weird is the area with the Twins Boxing match has a small change. The corner where there was 1 NCPD Officer ,that would not trigger a warrant if killed, and 2 Scavs/Tygers up the street on the side of the building is a Turret now.
