The only thing I wish was different about the endings is having the epilogue be separate from the ending mission. I don’t want a penthouse apartment in the city, I just wanna storm ‘Saka Tower solo with Johnny and then ride off into the sunset with Panam.

cyberpunk at large is a dystopia, not exactly a happy place. on the small scale most stories operate in it's mostly scifi-noir, which means you can have personal happy endings, but it's more likely to have some tragic aspects to it.
It's more dystopian outside the game than in the game, such as with 2020. Even then, you'll need to get yourself a good DM that'll make it as dark as it should be instead of "super fun action game in a totally dystopian world trust me." Also, Ruiner and Neuromancer, solid stuff.
