"Leaving South California"

Yea at that rate things are going, this looks more and more plausible.

A prostitute gang? Aw yiss time to play as a deadly version of Miss Saigon.

Are you able to see your character even though you're in first person mode?

Also I'm kinda hoping to see references to Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner, and The Witcher.

My first play through is going to be Nomad, it appealed to me the most out of the three. Probably Corpo second.

There's gotta be mirrors, or at least shiny surfaces and water puddles. Not being able to see yourself somehow would be stupid since your clothes will affect you sex appeal stat.

And a Ciri appearance is all but guaranteed.

Would be interesting even if it's Jo Wyatt playing a different character. Maybe she'll reference The Witcher back lol

Hard to say how, to be honest. Jeez would she stick out like a sore thumb though. Way too clean and pretty for Cyberpunk, and frankly, why carry Swallow when you've got a Kendachi mono-blade or an Arasaka thermal katana? Hell, Geralt's finest weapon in the books is a brand-new dwarven blade made using the latest technologies and techniques, so her blade would get laughed at for being a worthless antique on the streets.

Fuck, I hope theres an option for third person, or at least a mod for it like Kingdom Come.

No third person option whatsoever. However if proper skeleton rigging and animations are included in the game it's possible a mod will emerge.

It sounds like they might pull it of right.
Personally i'm absolutely ok with mechanical abstractions so bullet-sponges in say F:NV never bothered me but i can understand why it would be a problem.
I think it's less about how spongy the enemies are, and more about how powerful the weapons feel. Powerful weapons should always feel powerful, even if you're shooting them at a tanky enemy. I like to use Resident Evil 4 as a good example of weapon feel, since weapons have predictable effects on enemies regardless of how much of their health you knock off with each shot. On the other end of the spectrum, you have the modern Fallout games where unarmored raiders will take fiddy cal rounds to the face without flinching.

Its just as Ruin said, but i want to add that skipping between 3rd person and first person perspective is not as easy as it may appear.
Most good looking FPP animations don't translate well to third person, most TPP games also have vastly different environments from FPP games since they require more space for the camera and less clutter for everything to be legible. Actually, early footage of 2077 shows this (at least i think so), in the 2018 demo environments were very spacious and kinda barren, i bet that was a consequence of them removing TPP during development.
A TPP mod might be possible but i'm not holding out hope.

I absolutely agree, its all about feedback. Again DOOM Eternal had pretty beefy enemies but because they would stagger bleed and loose chunks of flesh it felt alright. Same with F.E.A.R. although replicas weren't as resilient for the most part.

But she also has the ability to blink right next to someone in an instant. Power armoured mook? Blink in, slide between plates, blink out.

There are already Witcher references. There's at least one advert for a car I've seen called the Rayfield Aerondight, after the silver sword that the Lady of the Lake gives Geralt.

I remember the devs being asked about Ciri ages ago and they very explicitly said she would not be in the game.

Could have changed since then but I wouldn't expect it.

The "Nothing personnel kid" maneuver doesn't work as well as you'd think when you're not using Japanese steel folded one million times. Your average street clothes are made out of ballistic cloth like something out of Gibson thanks to all the crime and violence. Those heavy duty leather jackets your buddy wears in the trailers will stop most pistol rounds dead in their tracks. Going by the RPG books, a light one will stop everything short of an 11mm and give you good odds against that, a medium one will stop that and give you a chance against a 12mm, and a heavy leather jacket will give good odds against a 12mm and even a 5.56 round (5d6 damage for the bullet, 20 armor for the jacket, average roll of 3 on all three dice will be 15). Note that at least in the TT game, if the bullet doesn't do more than the armor's value, it does no damage at all. Just don't get hit in the legs or head...
