Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

I think it'll be worth it for the worldbuilding and immersive experience.

Aside from DX, are there any other AAA cyberpunk open-world games out there? And DX isn't even a true open world.

Not really AAA, but you have the Shadowrun games by Harebrained Schemes, Ruiner, Satellite Reign (which is co op), and EYE Divine Cybermancy for games within the past 10 years. Off the top of my head that is.

How much RAM do you have? What kind of CPU do you have? Both impact how fast your system will handle data pulled from your slow as dirty hard drive.

If you can afford an SSD (They are $$25 for 250GB on Amazon) to run this game vastly better.

That being said I'll be having my Xbox Series X which will give me 4k, Ray Tracing, 60FPS , all without having to bother with shit that comes with a buggy PC release, which this will be.
lol if you think a console will run this at 60

The Xbox Series X or PS5 will run this game at 60FPS yes in 4k.

But the absolute best graphical fidelity will always be PC.

Anyway I'm starting to get pretty hyped for this game guys, I don't want to be overhyped, but dang, I am excited.

One thing I love is how 80s the aesthetic is, a lot of the colors and shapes of things, I like how they're running with the idea that this isn't our future, this is the future as imagined by the 1980s, with the breakaway being I guess 1988 when the RPG was first published.

But at the same time it's not afraid to take potshots at current year.

61 days to go, if anyone's keeping count.

Blade Runner was a more accurate representation of an 80s future imo, lots of analog tech on display. CP2077 doesn't strike me as that at all.

This is a more advanced 80s future, the original Cyberpunk 2020 would have been the 80s vision of the future, but now 2077 adds 50+ years to it and you get more advanced technology as well as the culture starting to resemble ours more, but still with a lot of 80s holdover.

It's very similar to Blade Runner 2049 now that I think about it.

That makes... no sense whatsoever.

We start off in 1988 and we have what 1988 thinks the year 2020 might be like, now in the real 2020 we work off of 1988's 2020 but then add 50+ more years of advancement to it, so we get a blend of retro futurism and straight up futurism.

Because in case you didn't know the original Cyberpunk 2020 is still the canon history for Cyberpunk 2077, this is an alternate universe future, not simply "the future"

Maybe you need to watch the latest trailer Postcards From Night City if you haven't, the 80s influence is obvious in some shots.

What's funny is I saw all this coming by the way, I remember back in 2010 thinking it would be cool if someone made a game for 80s futurism the same way Fallout is for 50s futurism and Cyberpunk 2077 is almost exactly what I had envisioned.

There isn't a rainbow big enough at how optimistic this is. Hope you like shitty upscaled faux-4k at medium settings.

I am OK with that as I know PC Master Race will have the 8k 144hz 120fps++ Mega graphics better than the console.

If I cannot tell the difference and it looks beautiful to me without stuttering, screen tearing, and loading screens then I'm happy. I've learned long ago to not quibble about graphics if the game play is solid.

That's fine with me, as long as the proper respects are paid to the superior hardware. I don't fault consolefags for what they have and enjoy, it's just when they try and get an ego about it. I do miss the era of party games and split screen multiplayer.

After those shots of the city I'm pretty certain I won't be starting any quests for hours upon hours when I boot this sucker up. Im almost afraid of how densely packed and awesome this world looks cuz I'll never get to the story since wandering the world is so interesting.

If we're lucky, CDPR won't take the Todd Howard route and constantly railroad you into the main story (see: Oblivion Gates and flocks of Dragons)

So apparently CDPR listened to the dipshits on reddit and the game is shorter due to complaints that The Witcher 3 was too long.

Ah, so we're at the "brainstorming things to bitch about" phase of the shitposting cycle right?
The main story is shorter because it's supposedly less linear than W3, also im really sorry but W3 actually was too long, just because reddit or whoever happens to agree doesn't mean it's suddenly not true. Back to /v/.
