Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

but an in-depth quality RPG can't have just 20 hours of main story.
to be fair, in this type of games is mostly expected that you are going to be sidetrack for most of your gameplay before finally deciding to finish the main quest and sometimes the secondary missions are more interesing so it depends on how fleshed out and worthwhile the sidequests actually are.

IGN's review says that mainlining the story missions, they finished in 20 hours.
What the fuck.
Remember CDPR said they were "streamlining" because supposedly feedback got back to them that Witcher 3 was too long (I didn't believe that either).
So now we're in no man's land - not a shooter because it's an RPG, but an in-depth quality RPG can't have just 20 hours of main story.
I'd love to know what the 175 hour guy did the whole time.
Also from the article, screenshots showing a game definitely ready for release

I'm sure the level of graphics warrants this performance :story:

edit: GTX 1060 is the recommended card for this game

CDPR always post these bullshit specs for their games. All the way back when The original Witcher released I had a PC that met and surpassed the recommended system requirements and the game still ran like ass so this doesn't surprise me in the least. I guess they expect people that meet the minimum system requirements to run the game at 640x480 just to hit 30fps.

YongYea was also glowing about Death Stranding and was genuinely confused when it did not get universal acclaim (to put it mildly) and was begging his viewers to take a step back and give the game a chance. So, yeah, agreed - he is not the one true gaming prophet and everybody should make his/her own opinion on things.

As for the gaming journos - do not forget, that a lot of them are like the retard, who could not beat the tutorial of cuphead. No idea how one could expect from those people a substantial opinion on a game.
YongYea moved to Commiefornia to pursue his dream job of being a voice actor, he immersed himself in the progressive bubble head first (despite the fact a lot fans told him not to move to that shithole) so there is no chance in hell he is going to negatively criticize anything that is tangentially related to the industry he covers. There is a lot of crossover work for voice actors in the entertainment industry so he is not going to risk any prospect of future employment by biting the hand that feeds him. Don't expect any honesty from shills like him.

I can't even remember the last time I played an open-world game whose main quest/mission line was more interesting than the bulk of the side content. This is true for both good and bad games. Big, over-arching narratives are more of a burden than an asset in this kind of game. I don't need 25 hours of cutscenes in each game, just give me a gun and point me at the nearest outpost to shoot up or whatever.

I think that braindance one is intentional? Like its supposed to look pixelated because you're looking at not perfect footage or something.
