Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Its pretty good so far. The worst part is the first person melee because enemies just kinda teleport to you when they punch making it feel really unfair when you get hit for dodging before the teleport window expired.

How comes everything I hear about this game is widely different depending on who I hear it from? Ive been told that the RPG elements and dialogue are fucking horrible then I have people telling me it's good enough

It suffers from Witcher 3 syndrome. The dialogue is so thick and lengthy you need to sit there with a cupcake and a cup of coffee to keep interested. Even Lets Players who made a living out of inflating 2 minutes of gameplay into 18 minutes of reacting are having a tough time bothering anymore.
Nigguh play the videogame, it looks absolutely stunning. Why?
- theres a big focus on light, even without raytracing (that i absloutely can't run)
- another thing that stands out are crisp and layered textures, there are a lot of reflections, you can zoom in really closely and everything looks really sharp
- game is filled with color that doesnt look offensive because of the aforementioned lighting, ive seen a lot of games that try to do cyberpunk only to come out looking like a lsd rainbow
thats techinical, designwise the world feels coherent and "real" theres a purpose to the detail at display
The 4 styles that were advertized before release are not a meme, they are clearly recognizeable, unique and just really goddamn good
Ive heard this somewhere before but YT videos really dont show the game as it looks in action because of compression, if you want to actually judge it your best bet would be downscaled 4k footage or just screens.
Cant say how it looks on consoles but if you expect a 7 year old shitbox to run this as well as a decent PC youre really >not smart<

I dont care what you dont care about, talk to me not around me pussy.
But.. it was developed for the PS4 and Xbox One. And runs like dogshit on both. And they said it ran "impressively well" on both. 15-20 fps isn't impressive for a $60 game.

I watched 5 mins of a stream. For a game about DICK and VAGINA, you don't even undress in the shower. And if you take off your clothing, you still wear underwear in first-person. I guess they didn't want to code a reaction system to you being naked like.. every other RPG has.

Oh, and clicking M brings up the map, but pressing M again changes view mode. Clicking ESC brings you to the ESC menu, at which a second ESC press brings you to the game. They've made so many fucking weird choices. Oh, and if you choose to wear underwear over having your genitals out, you literally lock yourself out of some parts of the game, despite sex scenes not including genitals.

Because expectations were wildly out of control. I went in expecting witcher with guns and a cyberpunk 2020 skin and was not disappointed. Other people expected this generations super Mario Bros, Metal Gear Solid, Half Life 2 etc and are either coping or tard raging about something that's not what they expected.

I see, is it true that your main character only has 2 personalities to pick from in dialogue and shits just railroaded or nah? I feel like thats gonna determine whether I buy it or not

Difference of standards.
If you actually enjoyed the gameplay in something like Fallout 4 or Outer Worlds (shudder) you'll be fine with it, but if you expected something you play for the gameplay and not because you can laugh at the dumb shit you'll be disappointed.

I watched 5 mins of a stream.
I think i know what your problem is.

I cant say anything about console performance because i dont have one but after seeing how assblasted consloefags got at seeing that the game doesnt look as good on their literal trash i think devs tried to preserve graphixxx while sacrificing frames.
Not a smart move.
I dont care much because i suffer from the "works on my machine" syndrome.

Come on guys, is it really that bad? I don't like the sound of the glitches and crashes and whatnot and of course the base PS4 and XBO versions are a disaster, but putting that aside and focusing on the game itself, is it really that bad?

I'm not trying to target anyone here but I will say that there is a cynical attitude among gamers where any game with any sufficient amount of hype has a target painted on it's back where some gamers want to see it take for a fall for whatever reason, with a game that has had as much hype as Cyberpunk, it's very easy to see it becoming a victim of it's own hype, but that doesn't mean it's actually bad though, if you go into a game wanting to hate it you're probably going to hate it.

I will say this though, if I do wind up being disappointed with Cyberpunk I may be done with video games or at least put it way on the back burner, it's just getting to be too much, the politics, the disappointments, I came close to bailing on video games back in 2014 after Bioshock Infinite disappointed me and Gamergate happened, the whole thing seemed to be going south, but I stuck with it because at the time Metal Gear Solid V was on the way, then that was a disappointment too, now the thought of having a third major disappointment just may be a case of three strikes and you're out.

It just seems like something may be fundamentally broken with video games, almost nothing seems to live up to it's full potential anymore, maybe the technology has just gotten too complicated for anyone to realistically be able to wrangle anymore, maybe the woke era of hiring people not based on talent or merit but on gender and skin color is what's killing it, I don't know.

Just please, not Cyberpunk, not this game too, you know what I mean? For fuck's sake.

It's not really THAT bad. But, it's very bad either way. Bugs, shitty combat, basic gunplay, fucked driving. Just pirate it before you want to buy it (or not).

I just have to post again because Jackie is fucking INFURATING in fights. I'm playing on the hardest difficulty, so I lose a ton of HP, not to mention I'm RPing as a skinny hacker nomad with no body and strength. His fat fucking ass is ALWAYS in my way. He is borderline useless and only good as cover. Even worse the enemies ignore him and he is always wandering in your line of fire or always walking in front of you in fights. To make matters worse if his hitbox crosses and you've lined up the shot, the game stops you from firing. He's incompetent, useless and only there as a piece of cover. Just have him hang back, exposed. Nobody is looking at him, nobody cares. Its better than hugging his ass into my face when I'm trying to headshot people.

When the fuck will games companies learn to cut this shit out? Why are FPS companions still shit?
Ladies and gentleman, Mr. Jackie Wells.

Can someone describe me how badly coded this game is?
From BHVR ‐--------------‐ to Rockstar level of coding where does Cyberpunk land?
I'd say... first accessible early access release, from my read?

For all the bellyaching people have given, the story in general hasn't gotten much heat, so I assume it's probably the best part. The background-specific prologues are apparently very short, though. people complained about the endings, but that was mostly at the conceptual stage.

Other than that, a lot of gameplay is being called either buggy, or not really up to par. If you're looking for a great story, you might find it here. If not, I don't know if this game will do it for you.

I play games for the overall story and atmosphere, one of my all time favorite games is Silent Hill 2 which gives you some idea of my taste.

Bad gameplay to me is something that's simply a total pain in the ass to play, it doesn't have to be spectacularly deep or reinvent the wheel, just something that doesn't "get in your way" too much of your enjoyment of everything else.

I was never really expecting this game to excel in the combat department as The Witcher 3 didn't have great combat either (although it was solid), so long as the game spins an interesting yarn and makes you "feel" like a Cyberpunk I should be pleased, but I may want to wait for a patch or two.

anyone else notice cops just spawn in on you? You can be out in the middle of fucking no where and as long as you do something illegal you can watch them all spawn right infront of you, im pretty sure they cant drive either. Oh and this game also has immortal kids if no ones said it already. Better clip: https://streamable.com/0pjgaf

I have no idea how anyone can defend this. These aren't bugs, the game was designed this way

Video games are still good just don't expect much from AAA trash.
