Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

I think this is the patch you had to completely uninstall the game and then redownload it to get it to work.

If you haven't done that then it's worth a try. If you care to, anyways.

@Dave.
highly doubt they're hiring writers, you don't need those to fix your game and no one is gonna buy new content given the state the game is still in.

I could see modders fix the worst aspects of it, it's bethesda's whole business model after all. question is how lucky they're gonna be attracting the people with the needed know-how to crowbar open the engine to actually be able to fix shit. outside of that they might be able to fix some scripting and config issues here and there, but that's pretty much it.

pretty simple:
OMG DAT DUDE FROM HOUSE OF CARDS!
OMG DAT DUDE FROM GAME OF THRONES!
(no idea who the third dude was, apparently from bf4).

fwiw the used the actor itself too, so not just the voice, it's basically like hiring some celeb to promote/star in your game. cod had done that for a while, especially in zombies.
It is true as a marketing stunt is great but Idk how much the guy got paid and I doubt they really alter sales so much that the appearance fee is negligible. I feel like it's a fucking retarded idea to do that but maybe I'm wrong, besides cdpr pre-shitting their pants live had a great buzz going with witcher 3 and cyberpunk was a known franchise that would attract people too, why would you add more money to marketing when the game was still barebones as it was and you already had a buzz going on? Just hire more devs or shit to make the game-making go smoother and can be counted as an investment for future games rather than a 1-time appearance that costs you more than literally scaling up your company.

I don't understand anything anymore.

425 pages of pure griefing.

As they say, never put your eggs in one basket. CDPR betted it all on Cyberpunk and got ass-blasted as a result.

Past all the bugs, you'll see the game is barely functional. The NPC shit, RPG-lite mechanics and the fact that barely anything changes when you pick one path. I expect multiple endings of actual change, like leave the city and create an antithesis to Night City or rule it like an actual corpo. Such game is barebones that has been in development for 8 years.

Then you have the buyers, the sunk-cost fallacy retards that spent too much money and time on a game that is not worth a shit on. The fact that many are still griefing about this fucking monstrosity of AAA crap speaks volumes of how much shit the current generation will gobble because of some dream they imagined.

I gotta say, between moronic Japanese idiots destroying their plots of long-running series, Americanized versions of foreign media, piss-poor remakes and reboots, acceptance of monetization and gambling, corporatization of brands and musical acts and absolutely horrendous quality control of video games, the generation really is showing its true colors. Keep griefing.

you'll have to play at least twice, once as a girl and once as a boy, to get all the romance achievements.
The achievements are just for finishing the questline, I got all of them despite not romancing any character.

Despite CDPR claiming otherwise the bug where npcs are stuck in the cower animation if you fire a gun is still there. They remain so until they despawn.
They heavily nerfed netrunning. NPC's will now detect you if you start to hack them even if you're in stealth mode and haven't been spotted. You can no longer just clear out an entire outpost by crouching and spamming suicide/shutdown quickhack.
@Ruin These issues annoyed me when I replayed the game a few months ago. I had to reload my save after the Oda fight because there were a bunch of NPCs cowering in front of the elevator I needed to get into and I couldn't get past them. Not even throwing a grenade helped because some genius thought it'd be a good idea to make the civilians invincible.

Getting forced into combat when you're a hacker is the stupidest fucking thing I've ever seen. I thought at first maybe they could see my head poking around the corner since I didn't have legendary Ping yet but then they magically knew where I was even if I was a block away. I could understand if enemies got suspicious and started looking around but how are you supposed to justify them just straight up making a beeline for you? It honestly would've been better if CDPR said "Oh well" and just accepted hacking was broken instead of trying to fix it.

I think this game is going to end up like this console generation's version of watch dogs, an overhyped mediocrity. Except I never had any technical issues with that game.

I'm in a weird spot regarding the game. I was like many massively hyped for this game. When it came out it was glithcy as hell i figured they'll patch it like every other game. Than as i played it more the glitches were more severe and it crashed every 30 mins or so and i couldn't even enjoy a game i liked.

Than i go online and see negative reviews i don't like others opinions on games as i find its more opinion rather than is the game good or bad. There is no nuance just nerdy opinions that are worthless. Its sad that a game i like is still glitchy that i keep myself away from playing for the longest time hoping back with the new patches. Thankfully in my experience most of major bugs i experienced are gone so i can finally beat it. Too bad i lost interest.

The one thing i find odd is there is a good game here. The animations are top notch. All the dubs are mo-caped and it looks good. Nearly all of the animations are the best i've seen in a game until i notice when V is driving and you go in reverse thier head just keeps looking forard and if you stay in first-person you can't look behind you. How they didn't add that in for a FPS is stupid.

If the devs kept their promise of relesaing the game when its ready this wouldn't have happened.
Who's ready for round 2 when the witcher 3's next gen update is miles better than cyperpunks "next gen update". Ones foundamentally broken the other isn't.
One is a overrated game and the other one is a average game with so many bugs its bad. Also the next-gen versions are out on the PC and Cyber will take years to see the next gen updates at that point no one will care.

I got the game for 10 bucks, it's eh I have a PS5 so it's at least 60 fps, gameplay is kinda bad in some aspects (specifically shooting, the ADS modifier is so bad, at least to me). One thing I will give them though is that the story had the potential to be good, and the music was pretty damn good imo. The narrative experience was worth 10 bucks to me so no skin off my nose as it were. I don't think realistically that CDPR can turn this game around without pulling some black magic though.

Does this game work yet?
Honestly if you have a good enough system yea. After dropping it initially and playing post patch 1.3 it's pretty good. I'm twenty hours in and no crashes have occurred. The worst thing that happened was a mission objective bugged when a getaway car clipped but a reload fixed it.

I'd say it's gone from ps3 launch New Vegas buggy to standard Ubisoft game buggy which is pretty good considering how it started.

After the patches I've only really noticed that traffic seems to function more appropriately. Far less instances of a handful of cars just stopped on the freeways, long stretches of no vehicles at all, better tracking so no more cars crashing through dividers and shit.

I've been real lucky with almost no glitches so I'm still really enjoying the game. Just walking around and seeing all these different NPCs and sounds in the background as I'm talking with a quest character really shows some hints at how great this game could've been. I recognize all of its shortcomings but I still love the game. I appreciate that games take a ton of effort and money though so I guess I'm just glad that this beautiful disaster exists for me to wander around in.

Did the appearance of celebrities have that much of an impact? Games like The Witcher 2 were very popular even before celebrities got involved with CDPR to the point where Obama praised the game.

Depends on how for lack of a better word "normie" you are. I bought the game because of the deep rpg systems (that weren't in the game) I was promised. Not because heckin valid wholesome big chungus Keanu was in it.

The keanu stunt in cyberpunk 2077? Absolutely, they really turned it up to 11 which as I said is not that it was a bad marketing move is just that you're creating hype for a non-existant product which was the retarded idea. It's like telling everyone to look at you when you're half-drunk with 0 training trying to do a backflip after having bet all your life savings on it.

I was one of the idiots who preordered it, and promptly took advantage of their unprecedented “whoopsies! You can get your money back” offer.

I wasn’t sure, cause alotta peepul were all “Don’t worry! They’ll sort out the bugs in a few months!”

But guess they didn’t, eh?
