Part of the issue is that both of those groups make it hard to accept someone's entire work. If you used to make "problematic" content, lefties will NEVER accept you, and Evangelicals will only subscribe to you as long as you stick to family-friendly fare for the rest of your career.

And as bad as these groups are falling for obvious grifts, there hasn't been much enduringly popular "Christian" media. VeggieTales and Adventures in Odyssey comes to mind, but that's about it.
