The main thing, that's been proven time and time and time again, is that these people all know each other as well as their skeletons in the closet. It's more a case of blackmailing each other in a web of conspiracy to try and divert attention from the fact they're really horrible people. After all, only one needs to go down and be investigated for the whole confidence chain to follow suit, which is what happened to Gamergate and now on a significantly lesser scale, the Channel Awesome implosion over Jewario being revealed to be a monster. Incidentally, Dan Olson still keeps trying to make it all about Gamergate.

I mentioned this in the TGWTG thread, but a lot of people that were pro-GG have moved on, myself included. The only reason that the friends I met through GG even bring it up anymore is when idiots like Dan bring it up.

Most anti-GG know deep down that, without having their boogyman to fall back on, people will stop paying attention to them. And we just can't have that, now can we?

Faraci was quietly rehired by Alamo Drafthouse shortly after he was fired and it took another blow-up to fire him again. Indeed as recently as February he's been able to tell his side of the story in this puff piece:

I guess it's a matter of who you consider "them", then. His connected friends tried to help him, but it seems like your run of the mill SJW wasn't happy and saw to it to repeatedly fuck up his chances even when they tried to quietly try to help him out.

Even the MeToo thing makes him look like a total bag of shit.

Once again, this is why dyed in the wool foaming at the mouth SJW fanatics are a thousand times better than either the spoiled and connected hipsters who pretend to be SJWs for profit and asspats (i.e. lindsey ellis), or the spiteful and aggressive shitbags who use the SJW cause as an excuse to act like a power tripping sadist and bully without reproach (i.e. Olson and Faraci). An honest zealot who holds their own comrades to the same insane standards they demand on others is a zealot I can somewhat respect.

Jordan Peterson is great because he somehow manages to live inside all of these people's heads, far more than almost any other talky-head-man out there. People can't help but write about how much they hate the guy, and how wrong he is.

He's a Clinical Psychology professor who sounds like Kermit the Frog and frequently talks about Postmodernism in a disparaging way, this includes going against current prevailing Cultural Marxist mood, and thus, you will find a lot of cows railing against him, and I'm pretty sure that ResetEra thinks of him as a persona non grata (NeoGAF discusses him freely though, with Tyler himself joining in).

I don't have the highest opinion of Jordan Peterson, because I find that his rhetoric attracts a lot of pseuds who get offended at the concept of universities teaching liberal ideas at all. But it's hard to deny that he's as influential as he is because he's a skilled, socially conscious communicator, and that threatens the people who think they should just be able to circlejerk about being right and magically win. Take Olson, for instance, who wants to be a socially influential thinker himself, but still talks like he's bullshitting on an essay to impress his professor.
 
One of the main reasons I made sure we had a proper Gamergate article on Lolcow Wiki was because of assholes like Olson.

We laugh at the Autism Holy War because we see what it is - a war between factions of speds - but it becomes less a laughable diversion and more something we absolutely had to remember when you realize how much power and influence these morons were able to wield.


We had Quinn go before fucking Congress arguing in favor of the same kind of retarded online legislation the UK has, and then followed this before the UN, allthewhile not being able to back up any but the most fucking spurious of her claims. They were willing to push this shrieking weal of Autism to the point where it would have potential ramifications for everyone on the internet.

All to cover for one idiot who hasn't accomplished jack and shit. Dan Olson is a primary example of the sort of shithead who let her have that kind of power in the first place.

I think one of reasons Jordan upsets them is due to the fact hes a charismatic intellectal and sways various weak minded spergs who fail to grasp that he's trying kick start your mind rather than tell you all the answers to life. Dan being a c list student most likely resents the realization hes exactly the same as them but left wing when he meet some smart well read academic.
He even tacitly admits Jordan's got a point but fails to offer a retort. Something a good sophomore could manage.
