Not really talking about the video Dan made, there are tons of videos talking about Doug's Wall review (and making the same points), but everybody who used to be his "friends", now take delight on shitting on the guy.

Can't say I'm up to all the "change the channel" drama is, but wasn't the main complain about The Walkers, mainly Doug, was that he was hands off to all the bullshit Michaud pulled, as in, he didn't help at all and kept to himself.

And while it is kinda shit to have someone you thought as a friend not having you back... the way they spoke was as if Doug never acted as if he was their friend, more like just a distant co-worker, so I don't know what they were expecting.

I just don't get this crazy hang up against Doug people have. Not here to defend the man, but the one who fucked people over on Channel Awesome was Michaud, Doug just looked the other way because, well, it wasn't his problem, and I don't think he ever made the impression to care either way.

Dan is a true believer. People who disagree with him aren't just wrong, they are evil. If you're not with us you're against us. Back in the gamergate days Lindsay's little corner of Channel Autism decided that they were going all in on gamergate. Michard and the Walkers didn't want to got involved. This was obviously the right choice to make. But, to Dan it proved that the Walkers were gamergate supporters and therefore must be destroyed by any means necessarily.

Doug's greater sin is refusing to roll over and die when they told him to. It proves how powerless and spiteful Dan is. The whole #ChangeTheChannel thing reminds me of the #KickVic fiasco. You have this little clique of self appointed moral arbiters who ignore the abusers in their midst to go after anyone more successful and likable then they are.

And ultimately tearing people down is what these breadtubers do. Breadtube isn't about creating anything. Dan's criticisms of Doug can all be applied to himself. Doug likes simple movies and is passionate about the things he likes. The wall review was cringe worthy, but at least he isn't pretending to like things to appear smart or cultured. He doesn't know or care about film theory or story telling he just likes what he likes. There is no deeper meaning to the Nostalgia Critic. He is completely genuine in his shallowness.

Doug wants to create art, but fails at it. Dan wants to control art, but fails at it. Dan's whole act is taking a paragraph out of a media studies textbook and stretching it into a 30 minute video.If he was given the opportunity would he do better then 'Demo Reel?" or is he to afraid to try?

As I said before, Doug was supposed to be this Christ like figure giving holy "exposure" that would magically get these lazy millenials jobs and fame within Hollywood where their "obvious" talents would FINALLY be noticed. Doug turned out to be a false prophet because he commited the disgusting sin of treating his co workers professionally and not getting involved in their pointless autistic legbeard feuds. So they all pivoted to Lindsey, seeing how she had some industry connections to minor people in Hollywood. But that didn't pan out either because the people Lindsey knew were washed up wine aunts or very low level executives looking for a purse puppy. Hence the betrayal. Which they probably desperately wanted to do for at least 5 years now.
