Unfortunately I feel like the core problem with the thread has to do with all the great posters who left. Which sucks because I don't think there's really a solution. And it's nothing against the new janny, if anything it's a shame he didn't get modded earlier. Maybe then clothes and proper wouldn't feel like they had to leave the thread in exile like a disgraced ronin after getting their brooms taken away. Me personally, I view the janny badge similar to the jew badge in Germany. I'd be thankful to have that Scarlett letter taken away but whatever

Most people that got banned aren't willing to even bend the knee to Josh with an email, so respect is a two-way street, and it looks like neither side was willing to continue with the charade of fealty.

I agree with you with regards to how a lot of good posters left and I do hope they do return someday. I wasn't on the farms when everything went down between Null and the board, but seeing a lot less familiar names in the subforum is an adjustment. I hope over time that folks will return back, but how likely this will happen remains to be unseen.

I understand your perspective about being a janny. I wasn't going to take over as mod at first, but not only have I been following DSP for 11 years and know a lot of the lore, but I also met Null's qualifications of what he was looking for as well.

You can call me a janny, tell me to sweep it up, etc and it won't bother me, after all, we are just retards on the internet.

It sucks we lost some of the old posters, but now that the initial drama has died down it feels like things are more or less back to normal. We only really had one annoying person who stuck around trying to troll and it didn't last particularly long. With a cow who has been around as long as Phil, it's not uncommon for people to come and go at various points, and we've even seen that banned posters aren't exempt from eventually returning to the goutsphere.

I agree with you in spirit because he is one of the most tedious and boring of Phil's orbiters and I would like to not have to read any of the retarded bullshit he posts ever again, but then he would just attention whore in the main thread.
I actually appreciate that he restricts his attention whoring to his own thread.
It was originally made as a containment thread for people who couldn't stop posting about how they hated him, and I think it's still serving it's purpose as a containment thread.
Locking the thread won't make the problem go away.

I actually like the idea of this. I will create a poll in Ryan's thread and keep it open for a couple of days to see what the community thinks. Appreciate the actual feedback.

this may come off as a joke but whats stopping him from just voting to keep it open with all of his socks? it's literally the most useless thread on the board, everything about the guy is pure speculation and at some point that has to get boring which is why he keeps bumping it when interest begins to wane.

I have thought about this and I am going to have Null check the votes to see if there is sock activity. Ryan is very easy to identify behind the scenes.

Well, I'm not the one to say that I 'told you so' that I wasn't Keith and he wasn't me, just because he was obsessed with posting in my thread for whatever reason. Also, with that said, even if you inquire with Null about me, you will see that I don't engage in sock activity on this site. It's not even worth my time to do so, especially with the site becoming just as dead as Phil's dying YT channel. You do actually have my respect though for doing your due diligence in regards to this matter, and not jumping to conclusions that every account not critical of me was me like old mods used to do.

I may have the record number of sock accounts on the DSP subforum, yet my OG account was unbanned, there isn't a huge deal if people aren't shitting up threads with fanfics of them and DSP's intimacy, LARPing, Doody- tier theorys, etc. , IMO.

The DSP subforum has less activity now since some of the people who were posting got culled for not doing what Null asked, it's not the entire website. The place has nearly 3k active users at any given time and other places have constant activity going on for them. If you really think this place is as dead as Phils channel and isn't worth hanging around at, you are free to leave and go post on the DSP subreddit where you'll get the attention you want.

This board rift seems to have happened just as Phil is entering the most boring period of his career. I honestly wouldn't surprise me if this board were closed simply due to lack of interest in a year or two from now.

Phil always has slow periods. A lot of the "big" things with Phil are pretty hard to predict because they seemingly come out of nowhere, and then the things we expect to be big are sometimes completely mundane, or never end up happening at all. With Phil, we're always one bad fast food order away from potential gold.

It also depends on what you enjoy from Phil. While his gameplay doesn't normally do much for me, his BG3 rage rants/incompetence were pretty entertaining, and it's only a matter of time until he stumbles back into a fighting game, which is bound to produce some salty rage and controller slamming.
