Beating on game journalists is a dead horse at this point because it's common knowledge they're full of shit.

Replacing "game journalists" with something like "Troons, furries, pedos, weebs, coomers, degenerates, politicians, etc..." to other threads on this website. You'll see how good your statement about general discussion of most of the stuffs here.
It's this simple, it's because game journalism or probably even journalism in general is plagued with low effort work by people graduated with useless degrees that don't contribute any thing good to society. Not only that, no matter how much people mock or shame them, these journalists will resort to call you some kind of "evil" and "harassment". Therefore, as long as they keep going on with their bullshit, there always be some level of dislike back at them.
I know you understand this thing has been going on for a long time even before this whole internet culture war crap.

Here's the thing that separates Journalism from troons or furries. They're so low effort that journalism is a fucking plateau. There is no rise and fall, no roller coaster of chaos going up and down, they have no arc, no real drive to push the limits of decency or sanity, no surprises, they are the same from day 1 to day 3245032. We know what they're going to be mad about because nothing extends beyond Highschool curriculum in terms of their world knowledge, their hot takes could have been programmed by an AI at this point.
The only thing they want is attention, and if you want to see these people writhe in anguish, real authentic anguish and despair, you just need to ignore them. And the best part of all is that you don't need to look for anything. These people will come to you once they feel like no eyes are upon them and they have nothing to lose. Then that's when the fun starts and you get Keith Olbermann type rants and outbursts as they spiral out of control.
