I think it's supposed to be in reference to the revelations that several wealthy silicon valley individuals who had been targeted by Gawker helped keep Boega in expensive lawyers to take on and win against Gawker before launching their own lawsuits.

Who cares? Gawker was a dumpster fire and even if the lawsuit had been financed by Blackwater and Freddy Mack it would still be a positive development.

People like Davey here care because sites like Gawker have a bunch of writers w/ no standards and editors who only care if the title will generate enough clicks. To them it's a playground of free press for their low-effort "games" and other media.
On top of that these people basically love being told how to think about different social issues and Gawker was more than happy to provide them w/ rightthink material. So basically they lost a "reliable" way to figure out what side of an issue their mob is on.

And while she tries harder to stir shit, the shows could actually suffer in quality that ratings can go down. But then again, one does have to ask who is this person? Looks less of someone important for a show and more of someone trying to ween a group.

For all the idiocy Gallant gives, it does at least allow some to soak up the salty tears he (along with any other person) gives in trying to defend Gawker. They can complain about GG and Hulk Hogan and any other bogeyman for killing off the site but it was Gawker's fault for not complying when a judge literally told them to take down Hulk Hogan's sex-tape.

Not only did gawker have writers with no standards, some of the staff could also of been buddies with people like Davey. That and it could mean shit like free press to try and hype his five minute attempt at a game.

To be accurate, the guy who called 911 to announce his allegiance to ISIL and then went into a club to shoot and kill almost 50 people of the LGBT community is the one who actually pitted two vulnerable communities against each other.
