This is just pure speculation, but does Phil possibly have an opiate issue? That looks a bit like a nod from someone who might be on pain pills or heroin. It would also explain a lot of his behavior. It would help if you could see his eyes better, but his are so shit-brown that you can't tell if his pupils are constricted or not, but he does live in an area that historically has had a pretty severe heroin epidemic and Connecticut in recent years has as well.

To tack onto that, procurement of pills or heroin would require regular visits to a doctor or dealer, respectively. As has been noted recently, Phil doesn't leave his house unless he absolutely has to, and is the most craven, yellowest-bellied coward to walk the earth. He wouldn't knowingly place himself within a hundred miles of a situation where he might be arrested or assaulted.

Given his regular 4-5 AM tweeting, he also only gets about five to six hours of sleep a night. When the sleep he's getting is already shit, it's a wonder he doesn't nod off more than he does.

Phil makes any game look worst than it actually is because he has the wits of an elderly man even though he's 37. He makes things boring so he needs to have some incentive to keep doing it even if it means some random giving him money to do so. The Shadow of War incident comes to mind he literally didn't care for the game and even if it got new DLC for missions or whatever he wouldn't touch it again (I don't think he ever touches games with new things out for them unless the viewership is already there for the game not himself). But that's Phil's entire viewship he is like these games like your Call of Duty that already have a mainstream run of the mill fandom to keep it in the public eye as it's a product that makes a lot of money. If you cared about the game then there are legit better alternatives but Phil is just a product of a product nobody takes him seriously and his opinion doesn't matter though he built an ego around the fact people are there for the game he's playing not himself yet he's so quick to make everything about himself because he's egocentric.

I guess it's mostly because as far as being an entertaining streamer goes his wires are completely crossed. When he ought to be giving commentary (i.e., during actual gameplay) he has nothing to say. When he oughta shut his fucking piehole (like during cutscenes) he can't stop spewing dick-and-fart jokes and telling women to take their tops off.

Personally there's about fifteen thousand other aspects to his streaming style that trigger me more but I can see how people would think that's incredibly obnoxious.

Imagine Coca Cola. They sell millions of bottles, they get rich. So rich they have to pay a lot of taxes, in addition to bills, workforces, maintenance. Then at the end they have no money left to produce a single bottle, so they beg their customers to pay them without getting anything in return, just because they are Coca Cola.
But we get something in return! The comparison is flawed! Phil produces free "entertainment". Yes, after the customers invested in "nothing", paid for nothing.

A workaround would be recycling of old bottles/games. But Phil needs the money for the most boring forgettable flavors in town. Or he puts a sticker on the good product saying: "Buy it, but honestly it tastes like poo poo" now with 10% extra salt and ackackack.

Greenscreen wouldn't be a bad donation goal. Not to buy the goal, but to promise a gimmick. A bit like GDQ, when people throw enough money at an incentive the runner names the hero after the thing that won (for example).

As far as I can tell, Phil said a few years ago that he won't use the green screen because he planned on using it for fallout 4 but got scared of using copyrighted images. Because somehow having images of gameplay on your green screen will trigger a copyright violation but showing the whole game in a playthrough does not.
