Sorry, but you and WB killed it. You honestly should have kept your mouth shut and you honestly should have worked at a better studio.

How would a Mattel Cinematic Universe even work? Barbie meeting Vert Wheeler would be awkward and deviate themselves from the point of both of those. And from where Barbie was left off as in the film, I'm guessing Barbie would either be a fighter woman or wouldn't even be in the plot, which isn't Barbie.
Studio Execs are just being retards since they saw the success of Barbie and thought people just wanted to watch toy films when the fact it was a toy film really didn't play the biggest role in its success

Man, here is my personal history with the snyderverse ...Sometimes I go back and think about the time before BvS, when I still had hopes for DC movies. I remember reading the prequel comics and loving it so much, downloading podcasts about the movie to hear when I cane back home after watching it.

And then I went to the cinema, and the first 40 minutes I thought: man this is boring and every thing gets worse. I really like Superman and I remember the sensation of desecration on the screen. When I left I was livid, listened to various podcasts for 8 hours after and malded in my head.

Then the ultimate cut came out and I thought: maybe they fixed the movie (I never rewatch capeshit), and with every minute I realized that it was the same shit but longer.

I guess DC movies died that day for me. To fail like that in the most simple crossover concept ever truly took out my trust.

After that I only watched the first suicide squad, not out of interest but by the sheer curiosity to see why people said it was so bad. It was bad too but not BvS bad.

And then nothing for me. I didnt watch a single DC movie ever since, not even the good ones like joker or the batman. My peak DC was man of steel and I have lots of reservations about that one.

And this isn't even a boomer complaining about muh reeve or anything, I dont like those either, it was about the total murder of superman on screen. Even when I watch reviews about these dc movies as white noise, I still gets surprises to even think that they peaked at Clark first flight scene in the first fucking movie.

that is so sad. And the worst part is that everything that snyder tried to do with superman was already done in the comics by JMS with his Earth One. I JUST WAN MORE SEQUELS DC.

Man I can tell you're a true comics fan because that entire post reads like the beginning of some villain origin story. You just need to add at the end: "That was the day I knew, I had to fix it. I had to fix all of it!" And then like pull on a mask made of comic panels...

If a Barney movie ends up being in the shared universe, we need to page to Lee Goldon (Barneyfag).

But they're also busy working on a toy cinematic universe because of Barbie.
Because the first toy-based universe worked so well...

That still makes me laugh. The first movie is a hit, make a spin off Lego Batman which also does well, and, for some reason make The Lego Ninjago Movie a movie based on an IP with no market value and have it come out months after Lego Batman movie. Finally, make Lego Movie 2 5 years after the first, and act shocked when it underperforms. WB somehow manged to both overmilk the ip and take too long with a follow-up, shit like that is never seen,

Universal now has the rights to make Lego movies.

I am a bit amazed they kept MonsterVerse going despite most of the movies not performing well and WB blowing its load with having the "Big 5" Toho monsters (Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, King Ghidorah, and Mechagodzilla) in the previous two installments, resulting in the next one having an original monster for the main antagonist. It won't shocked me if that will be the last since I doubt Toho will loan out more of their IPs even if fans want to see favorites like Gigan and Destoroyah.

Godzilla King of the Monsters did poorly, to the point it would normally kill an ip, The thing is they already shot Godzilla vs. Kong, so wouldn't cancel it. Surprised when it came out that it did well, but also meant no stand-alone Godzilla or Kong movies, but just crossovers from here on out.

You got the reason why no Gigan or Destoroyah, each monster is licensed out on its own, so if they want to use any classic ones they don't have the rights to use they have to go back to the table. Cheaper just to create new monsters, and if they do make a deal to use other monsters maybe just be per a movie to make it cheaper. However doubt it's because Toho would say no, as they put the western Godzilla movies out in Japan, just the other studios are being cheap.

Well, I am in favor of using the new monsters they created, how they are going to use it, I have no clue.

You can even make a good movie or show with them, but I don't think there is a commercial pull in the name

Warner had every wrong doing to sabotage Legendary and Toho with the American Godzilla movies during the making of King of the Monsters. It actually makes me wish we needed a Destroy All Monsters crossover that would help benefit the American series if Warner had more faith in the Godzilla/King Kong IP.

I had heard something about the toys all selling really well, which was working out in Warner's favour. I do kind of like the movies in a trashy dumb way, kind of like the og films from the 60's.

DC should’ve canceled blue beetle along with batgirl. I don’t think batgirl would’ve flop this hard.
I have a feeling there was probably a limit as to how much they could use tax write-offs given that they technically already used it twice with Batgirl and Supergirl, not to mention all the non-DC products they were using it on. If that is the case, then sacrificing Beetle to the fire was probably better than the Batman and Superman brands.

I'm trying to watch the Flash and Ezra Miller is the most obnoxious faggot degenerate. I can't believe they made someone utterly devoid of charisma the star of $100,000,000 movie. I wish I could just watch a hastily recut where it's only the Michael Keaton scenes.

EDIT: Utterly shitty movie. The Special effects were so bad. Michael Keaton's Batman doesn't belong in an over the top Superhero movie. They could and should have done Batman Beyond. Keaton would have been perfect in a mentor role. Such a wasted opportunity.

Honestly I think Batgirl would've probably made more money because of Brendan Fraser and being a batman related property at all.

Blue Beetle at best can just hope to slowly make money over time.

Aqua Man 2 is also most likely a flop

I agree with you that if they wanted to make more profit they should’ve canned Beetle over Batgirl. I mean that’s literally what DC does for their comics. They shove Batman and his family into a side book that no one would otherwise bother with and it was likely to do much better. Though that tactic has not been working very well lately, especially now since 70% of DC’s comics are Batman related.

I think Aqua Man 2 has been died in the water (huck huck) for months now, we’re just waiting to see how bad it performs. I didn’t hate the first one but everything I’ve heard about this sequel just makes it another one to avoid.

They really needed to strike while the iron was hot with Aquaman. Instead they took 5 fucking years to get it out after they have straight up announced the universe it takes part in is dead and there won't be any continuation.

Who the fuck wants to watch THAT film? Who wanted to watch any of these films when they announced the Snyderverse was dead?

Really, WTF were they thinking doing that? They really couldn't have just kept James Gunn being hired and them starting a reboot under wraps for an extra year?

I also agree that Blue Beetle should've been cancelled along with Batgirl. Yea, Batgirl looks like shit and I'm glad that one was cancelled, but I never thought that it would be pointless to the point where it would flop hard, unlike Blue Beetle, a movie that was so unnecessary that it didn't need to exist at all.

Yes. We don’t care if Superman legacy a hit or not will make WB investors happy.
The notion that they obviously had to fire Cavill because of the reboot is probably going to make way less sense in hindsight.

I wonder what what have to happen for the DC suits to give superhero movies a rest for a bit. Because I feel like if Superman Legacy loses a billion dollars and James Gunn personally shoots up an orphanage they'd go, "well, we're changing our strategy for the post-2025 slate" and hire Joss Whedon to write another Suicide Squad or something. These madmen can't be stopped.
