Aqua Man 2 is also most likely a flop

If DC were smart, they ramped up Amber Heard's sex appeal and put her in the most slutty costume possible for a PG-13 movie. Which they are not smart at all. But DC is hellbent on killing Harley Quinn's sex appeal and all live actress female DC characters. Look at the female costumes in CW after supergirl stop wearing a skirt.
They really couldn't have just kept James Gunn being hired and them starting a reboot under wraps for an extra year?
James Gunn comes across as someone who might become the next Kevin smith in terms of fans falling out of love with him. Especially if he does stuff like Kevin Smith by retconning year one by having batman piss himself as a joke or retconning Black Cat backstory to her becoming a sexy superhero that can take on spider-man in a fight because she was raped in college.

Given that it’s Amber Heard, the smart thing would’ve been to recast her. She probably is going to be a reason why Aqua Man 2 flops given how unlikeable she is, just like Ezra Miller and the Flash

They're trying to kill every female characters sex appeal if you ask me. Birds of Prey alone is proof of that. Just look at Huntress and Black Canary and don't get me started on Harley Quinn.

Except James Wan, James Gunn and WBD were too little too late recasting Amber Heard given the controversy of her own. I'll be happy if it flops hard, if not harder than either The Flash or Blue Beetle. It goes to show you how a big name studio (specifically Warner Bros.) are hellbent by hiring mentally ill sickos

man why you gotta go and remind me of Kevin Smith comics
I think DC and Marvel started going downhill around the same time. Both companies hired Kevin Smith as a writer. Hell Black Cat got rectoned as a bisexual around the same time Kevin Smith made her a rape victim. Foreshadowing the worst of the new 52 and woke shit in comics.
Plus, he hasn't made anything good since the mid-2000s.
Like I said. James Gunn, the new Kevin Smith and Joss Whedon. Both were considered geek darlings until both got full of themselves and started to swipe at fans. James Gunn is already getting into pissing with fans on social media. Still not sure if he could write Superman without making him the butt of the joke. The cast is already too large for a reboot movie meant to reintroduce a new Superman to the public. Making same mistakes as Batman V Superman.

You mean three, not both. Both would mean two. Please recheck your post before you post.

But yes, I agree, they're hacks.

The notion that they obviously had to fire Cavill because of the reboot is probably going to make way less sense in hindsight.

I wonder what what have to happen for the DC suits to give superhero movies a rest for a bit. Because I feel like if Superman Legacy loses a billion dollars and James Gunn personally shoots up an orphanage they'd go, "well, we're changing our strategy for the post-2025 slate" and hire Joss Whedon to write another Suicide Squad or something. These madmen can't be stopped.
WB can't give DC a rest because DC is one of its few cash cow IPs it entirely owns - it doesn't own Harry Potter outright for example and some of its other major hits are technically licenses or something like that (Barbie, Dune, etc.). The merchandise from DC heroes is too big to ignore and nominally good movies not only bring in big bucks themselves, they also bring awareness to the merch already there or make a new character worth milking for a bit. You let the commercials... excuse me, movies... rest, the interest in the IP and thus merch sales dries up.

The problem of course is that we're seeing the bad movies dampen interest in the IP as well, so it's becoming a sort of lose-lose for WB with regards to DC. It's been fifteen years since Iron Man jumped onto the scene and turned capeshit into big box office business, and today's kids have grown up with the Avengers (alongside the evergreen Spider-Man) as the pop culture standard for superheroes (outside the evergreen Batman)... that's never really happened before in history when Marvel was the normies' reference on superhero archetypes and not DC, and WB is entirely to blame for this with its boneheaded decisions in regards to a DC cinematic universe centered around the Justice League that should've been even easier to make than the Avengers, since DC's solo heroes are bigger deals than the League as a whole (each League founder should be able to get three big villains for a trilogy each) itself and vice-versa for the Avengers. Now they're the secondary heroes and less popular ones for the current generation and that WILL last a while.

It's no wonder WB's hoping for a toy cinematic universe because that's a fresh start versus the blunder the DCEU was. I await the tell-all and look-back books about what a failure this sojourn was, though.

Birds of Prey was developed under Margot Robbie’s production company. Margot makes it obvious that she hates being the sex toy, given her past with The Wolf of Wall Street, and wants to be taken as a mature actress loved for her talent. All of her movies have flopped as she can’t sell a flick without stripping. She should thank the stars Barbie did well.

Birds of Prey seemed to be fully on her. WB took a back seat, so I wouldn’t say it is fully reflective of DC, though it might become.

Margot Robbie hating the only thing people care about her for is something special lol. Hopefully she ages like milk so we can truly how much Hollywood and the media care about her opinions.

The Birds of Prey show on the WB back in the day was pretty decent from what I remember. Anyone else remember that show?

Most Hollywood women are this way, it is why feminism has taken such a strong-hold. So many of these actresses gave blow jobs to gremlins like Tarantino and Weinstein for roles, then grow to regret it later on and either take hard anti-sex stances or get deep into #MeToo.

Nah they should have leaned into it.
Film reshoots where her character cuts off Aquamans finger, shits in his bed, and is just an all around bitch.

Hell, I'd watch it if they did that and I didn't even care enough to see the first.

It's still gonna make it worse

I like James Gunn, you can see in the Guardians of the Galaxy films, even the fucking live action Scooby-Doo films that he cares about these characters and IPS. I've enjoyed DC most of my life and am happy that we have someone here that wants to build something from the ground up. It SUCKS firing Cavil because he was the best part of that live action universe, and now he's probably going to jump to the MCU. I'd rather see him do some Warhammer 40K shit first instead though. DC has been juggling what they want this cinematic universe to be ever since BvS.

First they wanted a "darker" Avengers, then they wanted to push for just solo films, then at one point The Rock was going to lead and it just all didn't work. They saw that Gunn made both good money and good headway with The Suicide Squad and I wouldn't be surprised of someone higher up said "Hey James, we're retarded and you know your shit, plus you made Disney money. So you go a head and drive the car."

I like the projects he's announced so far and having a Damian Wayne in live action is fucking amazing. The Green Lantern series looks interesting and different with them being actual space cops. I'm seeing speculation we may get a Krypto too, god damn there is so much potential here with Gunn at the helm.

Forgive me for sperging out, but James Gunn only wrote the two live-action Scooby-Doo movies. Everyone really needs to stop calling them James Gunn movies when he never directed the two, but was only the writer. Poor Raja Gonsell.
